Window's still open for another year.. They need to restructure that Roster to fit Kidd's game a little better..

Yes Dirk had a miserable series against GS, no one denies that.

However, like others have mentioned, there is no second option on the Mavs.
Thos who say Josh Howard must be smoking pot with him, b/c just look at his numbers this series, shooting around 30%, giving a half-assed effort on D.
Ever since JHo got some recognition, he started becoming a soft jumpshooter with overrated D.

Also, even though Josh did ok in the series against GS, look at his second half stats.
He's top 10 in scoring in the first half and then somewhere like 70 for the second half...that's NOT a second option, that's a halftime player. Give me a break.

I like Josh, but he's a 3rd or 4th option on a championship team at best.

Hunter wrote:The Kidd trade really came a year or two late and they are going to pay the price for that. I don't think it's entirely fair to blame Avery though. Wasn't he just everybodies darling a year ago? I still think he's a very good coach, but the team is mentally soft. And I don't care who the coach is, you aren't going to turn Dirk into Tim Duncan.

Exactly, so isn't that on the coach? To be able to strategize to maximize your best player's strenghts? I don't see Pop telling Duncan to work on becoming a spot up 3 pointer.

NOt saying Avery deserves all the blame, but he certainly share in it. He was outcoached by Nellie plain and simple.
