Maybe they meant the fanbase. This has absolutely no connection to the Cleveland Papa John's places. You'll just put a couple people from Cleveland out of jobs and it'll barely harm Papa John's.

It seems like a bad marketing decision, but at the same time, I really doubt it will have THAT much impact on Papa Johns' profits in the Cleveland area. As corona mentioned, people go to these places because they like the food, not because they support or don't support a certain athlete.

what a silly controversy. Nobody cares that cavs owner Dan Gilbert's Rock Financial Group is the official sponsor of the Detroit Pistons, why should they care about a pizza t-shirt? It is a bit surprising that a national chain (even if it is a local franchise and not the whole chain) would put their name on something attacking an opposing player instead of simply supporting the local team.

Man, I didn't realize how protective some Cavs fans are of LBJ..

Don't let LJ4MVP fool you, he lead the charge in this mass protest..

I like the shirts. Imagine walking out of that arena wearing one of those shirts after LeBron just dropped 27, 13, 13 on Washington and knocked them out for the 3rd straight year.

The shirts provide a nice little way to bring back painful memories for Washington fans and thats why I like them.

Eh, some people will be irritated for a while, but in a couple of years when LeBron jumps ship to a bigger market, everyone in Cleveland will want one.

actually, the shirt is just true. Has nothing to do with anyone getting knocked out of the playoffs, your boy IS a crybaby. Nice shirts...I'd like one myself.

he might be, but then again, his team is still playing...all the wizards have to show for that series is a t-shirt sponsored by papa johns

as for the discussion...some of my fellow cavs fans are just a bunch of idiots. papa johns sponsoring a t-shirt in d.c. mocking lebron is not going to stop me from buying their pizza

Stupid marketing campaign. Business in Ohio will probably be hurt in the short term, but be okay in the long term. I bet somebody is going to lose their job though.

I would never eat a Falcon supporting Papa John's if something like that happened here.

Papa John's are franchised.

Someone who owns some DC area Popa John's decided to try this as a promotion. I'm sure it was CORPORATE that did this.

Papa John's in Cleveland Area have different owners who shouldn't be hurt because of the decisions of owners in DC.

I find it funny that the ones that cried the most during the series would happen to be the ones wearing the shirts.
