Luckiest People in the NBA

Post#1 » by phd1969 » Mon Aug 24, 2009 4:44 pm

Robert Horry - Luckiest of the role players, 6 championships with 3 teams.

Phil Jackson - MJ and Kobe, enough said.

Marko Jaric - How the hell did this scrub score Adriana Lima not to mention his crazy contract.

Rashard Lewis - Suffered during the Seattle years but man did he become a free agent at a perfect time.

Robert Horry hit plenty of clutch shots. I can see if he was some scrub on the bench or just ate some minutes.

MJ and Kobe are just as lucky to have Phil Jackson. All three are highly intelligent and have a great basketball mind.

robert horry? the man has made some of the most memorable shots in the nba..WHEN THEY COUNTED MOST...the guy is responsible for at least 2-3 rings in my mind, because of his clutchness

phil? the guy is the greatest coach of all time how many rings did mj and kobe have before PJ?

So far according to this thread it's impossible to drive your own success, anyone with either moderate success or massive success just got lucky. I don't think any one of these guys got lucky. Guys who get lucky are guys like Sun yue who got a ring without playing a minute. All the stars and guys who play great ball earned their keep, and just made the best of their opportunity. I bet you if Charles barkley won 3 rings with the coach he had we'd be saying he was lucky to have such a great coach. There's a reason the people who won are winners, and its not because of luck.

Josh Powell, Adam Morrison, DJ Mbenga, Glen Davis, Rajon Rondo(not being traded to twolves), Maurice Ager (getting drafted in the first round thus getting guaranteed money, despite being totally useless)

oh oh..my turn.

Cleveland fans and it's not even close. ( referring to getting LBJ and being relevant- seems petty, huh?)

Anywho, I think anyone who plays basketball for a living and makes millions is pretty lucky.
So my answer is:

THE NBA

side note: Horry has 7 rings.

2 Houston
3 Lakers
2 Spurs
