list of contenders
Lakers (will never sign him cuz they already have enough 7 foot big men)
Nuggets (i could see it happening. their current frontcourt isnt that over whelming)
boston (like LA, they already have alot of decent big men, and they really like perkins)
cleveland (could also see this happening since this might be shaq and Z's last season with the cavs and they wont have any centers next year)

If he makes a full recovery by next season, he's not going to sign the MLE with anyone. Fail man. FAIL.

Trade him to Phoenix for Amare.

 Nothing better than watching Yao playing in a Steve Nash offense.

He's worth another max as a player but his injury concerns make it very hard for any team to invest that kind of money in him. The guy is just not durable for an entire NBA season imo.

He's staying in Houston unless Alexander decide to ship out his cash cow, Yao would be a perfect second option in a championship contending team, injury wont take any part of his game out since this guy start with no athleticism whatsoever.

If Yao is supposedly so eager to stay in Houston why hasn't he signed an extension?

Yao will go where the Chinese government tells him to go. His first loyalty is to China, not Texas.

He could rejoin his close friend T-Mac in New York, the world-class city China always wanted him placed in.

He'll end up re-claiming his title as best center in the league!

I think Yao stays a Rocket his entire career, unless the Rockets decide to rebuild or Yao really wants to win a championship before he retires and the Rockets can't help him get one. If that's the case, I don't see him being traded to a team with a small Chinese/Asian population. So that basically leaves places like Los Angeles, NY, and teams like the Warriors. He does have his own marketing team, so I would assume that's what they would be aiming for.

If Bynum decides that he wants to be a #1 or #2 option and becomes disgruntled with the Lakers offense, I could see the Lakers trading him for Bynum. I would be interested to see how well Yao would play alongside Kobe.

China doesn't want Yao to leave Houston.

Also, Yao gets atleast double the MLE. He's a top 3 center in the league, people.

If Yao is healthy and back to his old self, and Bosh is looking to leave, I would take a Yao + Battier for Bosh sign-n-trade.

It would make perfect sense for all parties involved, IMO.
