Yeah this is like the 3rd time this year it's happened, they should automatically switch it state wide for the two teams that are playing or at least give you the option somehow to watch whatever game you want.

then there will be people mad they cannot see the final minute of OT of a REALLY good game.

split screen.

and have the audio on the first game, unless that game is doing commercials.

I remember a couple years back, if there was a second game, TNT would have it on TBS or something. Am I the only one who remembers this?

They have used TBS in the past during the playoffs quite a bit. Remember, TBS used to carry full games as well. They could even use CNN if they wanted to, as it's another Turner Network. "This is Anderson Cooper and we have breaking news on CNN... a riveting game has broken out between the Suns and Jazz with only 46 minutes and 23 seconds left to play... who will win???"

I really can't believe there are people who are pissed off about having to watch overtime rather than the first quarter of a regular season game.

I am pretty sure TNT has done a decent amount of research that shows the way they handle overtime is best for the majority of their viewers, even those in local markets who may miss several minutes of their game. I bet if we did an informal poll on RealGM the majority of posters would say they would rather see an exciting ending to a game (usually between two decent teams if its on tnt), than the beginning of their local game.

The NBATV idea is good. Put the beginning of the game on there and then they can go back to their regular programming when TNT switches over. It would still screw the people who don't get NBATV, but less people would be screwed.

If it was a blow out I'd understand, but its not.

And a game with the two of the best players going at it in Kobe and Wade.
Id rather watch that than the first quarter of my fav team aswell

And we have a winner....Except people will complain since not everyone has NBA TV. During the playoffs, I think they show the game on TBS (Their sister network)

So you're mad that TNT decided to show you a overtime game where two of the three best players in the world are in it?

TNT's train of thought.

"screw over the people in PHX and Utah."
"screw over America."

You honestly think they would to please you and the people of Utah?

My goodness.... what audacity!

Can local stations show their local team games if they also scheduled on TNT?

If there's some exclusivity clause there, then that's your problem. Lift that, and problem solved.

Never even though about this before as a Hawks fan but I totally agree with the OP. That has to be awful to be a Suns/Lakers/Nugs fan and your national TV games on Thursday night consistently aren't shown until into the first quarter or later. Put the freaking first quarter on TBS and let people watch their team.
