The Cleveland Cavaliers have every reason to be especially careful with LeBron James ankle injury. At least his condition doesn’t seem to be nearly as bad as Tony Parker’s.

The Cavaliers may be without James again as they try to reach 50 wins Monday night in a matchup with a San Antonio Spurs team that faces the possibility of missing Parker for the rest of the regular season.

Coach Mike Brown said James might sit out a second consecutive game after twisting his right ankle slightly in Cleveland’s 99-92 win over Detroit on Friday night. Brown insisted the decision to keep James out of a 92-85 loss to Milwaukee the following evening was for rest and had nothing to do with the star’s ankle.

James, though, was clearly limping as he walked to the bench in the first quarter and again to the locker room at halftime.

“He’s logged a lot of minutes,” Brown said. “For me, this is a great opportunity to rest him and a great opportunity for some other guys to have an opportunity to step up.”

I knew he was out because of this as well. It made no sense to give him rest when there are 20 games left. Maybe the last 3-4 games of the season makes sense, but not now.

If he sits out tonight against the Spurs the Cavs won't play again until Friday which would give him 6 days off completely towards the end of the season that could really help him come playoff time.

I understand why they are doing it.

He wants to make sure his PER stays above Jordan so everyone will know how much better he is than him.

It'd be smart by Mike Brown to leave him out tonite.
Would give him 6 days off, cause have a game only til Friday.

He could have played but they decided to be extra cautious with him which is why he may sit out against SA as well.

If he could have played, then why was he seen limping? Maybe his injury has more to do with it than anything else. The Cleveland management don't want to alarm everyone by revealing that the real reason for him missing on maybe two games is because of an injury, so they invent the excuse that he needs "rest." What a bunch of crap. I highly doubt that James, being a competitor, would want to sit out so that he can get more "rest." :roll:

With the Lakers losing, it's not like the Cavs have to worry too much about the race for homecourt advantage.

Even if it's a playable injury, I'd sit him.

I'm not a huge fan of him sitting but since the Lakers keep losing as has been said, it is probably the smart move.

We are more reliant on Lebron than other elite teams are on their star player. Any injury that slows him down affects our team in a huge way. So I can see why they are doing it.

I doubt James will EVER get suspended so hahaha Lebron can't do everything better then Kobe :lol:

Lebron will also sit out against Toronto, CHicago and Miami. Mike Brown is scared of the Bobcats and will do anything to avoid facing them in the playoffs
