There aren't many intense rivalries right now. Even the Boston/LA rivalry is something made up about events that happened 20+ years ago.

There is no bitter rivalry today, but Cavs/Magic and Celtics/ Lakers are the closest

Truthfully there is no true rivalry. There are whispers of some (Spurs vs Suns a few years ago, Magic vs Cavs) and then there are delusional ones (some Raptor fans thinking they have rivalry with the Magic) but any 'rivalry' in the NBA nowadays is totally fabricated.

Maybe the Ref's & Reality, Vince & Manu vs baldness, or NBA players and common sense...

The Nuggets and the Lakers is the only real rivalry I can even think of in the league right now.

With respect to the past 15 years or so, the overal rivalries are pretty lame... if i had to pick a few matchups that i like to watch...

Cavs vs Magic
Cavs vs Lakers
Magic vs Celtics (quickly losing luster as Celts fade though)

Cavs vs Nuggets is fun (Melo LeBron dual this season was sweet)
Cavs vs Heat (always a good matchpu between Wade and LeBron bringing out the best)

Past years had Atlanta vs Boston as a fun matchup...

Most of the West matchups have stunk b/c LA has been clearly superior to the other west teams that no one has given them a decent fight...

At least in the past we had ...
Lakers/Blazers .. 2000
Lakers/Kings was epic
Lakers/Spurs was always fun
Spurs/Mavs was always great bball too

If my prayers are answered and Knicks get LeBron, I'm secretly wishing (and not wishing) for Wade to go to Bulls to bring back Chicago/New York rivalry...

Atlanta vs. Boston is a pretty heated. It's the only team Atlanta tries their absolute hardest against.
