No, just a draft we run on our board every summer. You have to draft 12 players and each player has to fit a pre-determined catagory. Here are the cats:
1. All-star - player has been selected to at least one all-star game
2. Homegrown - player was either born in, went to high school or went to college in North Carolina or South Carolina.
3. West Coast - player attended a Pac 12 college
4. Sharpshooter - player has made at least 150 3-point baskets in a single season
5. Fooled the Scouts - player was selected in the 2nd round in 2006 or earlier
6. 6th Man - player started less than 20 games, but played in more than 40 games in 2010-11 season.
7. Non-Lotto - player was selected between #15 and #60 in the 2007 - 2011 drafts.
8. NBDL - player played at least 1 game in the NBDL.
9. Southpaw - player's dominate hand is his left hand.
10. Toothpick - player must fit one of these criteria - 6'9" or taller but weighing 220 lbs or less; 6'5" - 6'8" taller but weighing 190 lbs or less; 6'0" - 6'4" but weighing 170 lbs or less. (must use basketball-reference.com as source for height and weight)
11. First/Last - player's first name starts with the same letter as the first letter in their last name (example: Bismack Biyombo)
12. Bust - player was selected in the 1st round of the 2009 draft (or earlier drafts) but averaged less than 10 points per game in the 2010-11 season.

the goal was to build a team that could win the finals next year. there were categories that each team had to fill while building their team, such as "select a player who is left-handed", "select a player who has made at least 150 three-pointers during a single season". not every player in the NBA was eligible for a category and therefore could not be selected to any team.

Team A is clearly the best - I assume that lockout helps veterans and Kobe is better than he was last year, probably the same with TD and KG.
Hell, Kobe/Duncan/Garnett trio with Iggy and other defensive specialist in Holiday?!
I'd love to see it in real life.

Did you hear that Karl Malone and John Stockton initiated new music genre? Nah, it's not Jazz. It's Pick & Roll.

Team A beats Team C in the finals.
Can the players only fit in one category in this draft?
No Dwayne Wade or Paul Pierce?

The lockout affected them all a little differently, a couple of them went completely stark raving nuts.

There was actually 14 teams in our draft but poll creations only allow for 10 options, so I only posted the teams that got votes from the voting we did internally on our board.
We will also be running a SIM season with all 14 teams.

voted for team B
Bogut, Horford and Jackson is a damn strong front court while CP3 is pulling the strings.

If you're simulating the season, that implies you have a scoring system. How good your team does depends on that scoring system.
