1988 Greatest Season in NBA history

Post#1 » by LAKERS_1981 » Thu Apr 22, 2010 12:36 pm

I was talking to my friends and we were talking about the NBA and what season was the greatest(1 Lakers fan me, two Bulls fans and a Spurs fan).
And after a long time we are saying 1988 and this is why

We had a great Jordan scoring 35 pts a game and playing out of his minde(Pippen and Grant were here to help him for the first time).
We had entartaning games with hi scoring and lots of great athletis
We had Bird playing great and Boston still a strong team
We had Magic playing great and Lakers still a strong team
We had Mark Eaton blocking shoot for fun
We had Jordan and Dominique going head to head in the slam dunk contest(that i think Wilkins won but Jordan did get the Trophy.
We had Barkley and Dr J playing one the same team
We had the Bad boys from Detroit
We had Doug Moe Denver scoring like cracy but like Bill murry in space jams did not do Defens
We had Manute Bol(7-7) an Muggsy Bogues(5-3) playing one the same team
We had Knicks with Ewing,Jacksons and Bill
We had Stockton and Malone the youn version
We had a great playoffs(with 7 series going to the final game) Lakers -Detroit finals, Detroit- Boston, Detroit - Bulls, Lakers - Dallas, Lakers-Utah, Bulls - Cleveland and Boston- Atlanta
We had Olajuwon in Houston
We had Drexler in Portland
We had Chris Mullin in Golden State
We had Sikma and Cummings for the Bucks
We had Wilkins for Atlanta
We had a good Allstar game

So the game was fun, we had great players(many legends playing great), great games.

Take away the Phantom Foul against the Pistons in the finals and I would agree 110%

Yeah I agree with this. It probably was overall the best year all around. Really though the Lakers went thru 3 game 7's as well. And having a finals that goes 7 is always a good thing for the league.

I think there has been many great ones but this is the best.
But there have been many bad ones two. ( i dont like 1990). Lakers and Boston going down.
