You're jumping the gun far too soon.

But...

Same ranking. Accolades don't matter, blah blah. Hasn't had a better peak than other said players bloo blah. Doesn't need Shaqira no more, but DEFINITELY needs a low post scorer to succeed. Pau Gasol =GOAT Spaniard. Playing with the Super friends his entire career. Blah. Blah. Blah. Blah.

I believe you just jinxed the Lakers from moving on to the finals. And as of now I choose the Suns in 6 games. Great going buddy.

Lakers fans make it really easy to root for the Suns.

This topic has been done before. Multiple times this season too.

Nice try, little Tiffany.

If anything, the Jinx Gods will force thy hand on Bryant in the Finals causing his career to spiral out of control into the depths of Clippers land where he will sign for vet's minimum while playing with draft busty Blake Griffin and injured reserved Lebryan Nash. Until then however, Lakers own that ass.

Also, this should be in the players comparison board. I was surprised when I realized I wasn't on there and instead on the general board. Jinxed my entire day.

I'd put him up there with Mj, Magic, Bird, and Robert Horry

+1

Although I guess you were being sarcastic. The non-sarcastic version of this post in true.

How do you jinx the unjinxable? What makes Kobe's overall unjinxableness so unjinxable?

Well he never won anything or contended for anything with out Gasol and Shaq so I'm not sure. Kobe has been extremely lucky through out his NBA career.

So your saying Kobe can't win unless he has talent around him? Mindblowing!

He's probably in the 8-10 range, second best sg after Jordan.

Players I would definitely rank ahead of him:

Jordan
Magic
Bird
Kareem
Wilt
Russel

Guys which he's in the same tier with
Shaq
Hakeem
Timmy
Kobe

edit I'm going to the throw in Oscar Robertson into the mix too as same tier

Kobe is a HOFer. The problem with this thread is it naturally seeks to compare him to MJ. He's not as good as MJ was.

And that is where I was going with my post. In fact the last team to win an NBA title with out a allstar big man was the 1998 Bulls. Jordan will and forever be the greatest wing player in NBA history because of how and when he won his championships.

No one even mention Jordan's name in the thread till you did. Great job. ;o

Personally on my own list, realistically he can climb up to 2nd all-time as Laker, and very likely number 7 on all time greats of the game. He still has a lot left in the tank and those accolades, achievements, and numbers are just going to keep piling up if he remains healthy.
