Stephen Curry or Tyreke Evans?

Post#1 » by ClassicAnT » Sun Jul 18, 2010 1:00 am

I'm kinda new but i have been following this board for over Three years now, huge Dubs fan. So Here I am now with this topic. My friend and I always get in heated arguments about the two so i wanted to see what you guys have to say.

edit- made the same post on kings board too.

If you mean who's better, that's hard to answer. But I think Curry is going to be more of a point guard and Tyreke more of a 2 guard who handles a lot. Curry's a better passer and outside shooter, Tyreke's got much more ability to make his own shot and score inside. A team should be happy with either.

Steph Curry for me. I think Tyreke's cap is lower than Curry's by a decent margin, not to say that Tyreke won't be great as well.

They're both good players who play really differently. It depends what you want for your team. Tyreke is better at driving and scoring inside, while Curry is a true point guard who has range.

Depends on what you need for your team. True PG with amazing stroke=Curry. Combo-ish guard who has little range, but is great at getting to the rim and can pass pretty well=Evans.

I like Curry better.

Um, I'll take the Rookie of the Year, Tyreke Evans easily.

Evans was only better than Curry for the first two months. After that Curry played better.

I like Curry more. His outside shooting makes him a good fit in any system with any players.

I want to say Evans, but something about Curry's game is just great and smooth to watch. He already has a deadly jumpshot...his skillset makes him easier to build around IMO. No disrespect whatsoever to Evans though, kid is a beast in his own right.

Give me the rookie who lead all guards in points in the paint with the exception of Wade last year. And considering the fact that he had no jumper, in theory, Evans should have been relatively easy to stop by implementing various zones and have their best defenders on him. But as we know, that didn't slow him down a bit.

Evans is working hard on his jumper this offseason, I mean, if he is an average jumpshooter, it's over.

^ And Curry leads the rookies in FT%, 3 pt %, record for 3 point FG's made for a rookie, steals, best 3 pt % for a PG and isn't too shabby at finishing at the rim (only 2% lower than Evans).

obviously he doesn't take nearly as many layups, but I'm just saying.

Curry's a great shooter and all, but Tyreke has a more unique skill. He can always improve his jumper.

evans is the better player, but i'd rather have curry on my team.

There is no team that does not get better by adding Curry. He can play on or off the ball, and is an otherworldly shooter. The same is not true of Tyreke, who can't shoot and does not play great off the ball.

Curry's unique skill is getting a real good chance at a 30pt, 10 assist game every night(had 5 30pt, 10 assist games last year but could've gotten 10 games but only missed them by a few pts or assists) and getting a few triple doubles a year.
