Shane Battier and Bruce Bowen.

If we are going now Chuck Hayes, Tony Allen, Andre Iguodala and Andrew Bogut all come to mind.

of all time Patrick Ewing had the misfortune of playing in an era with players such as Alonzo Mourning, The Dream, The Admiral and Mutombo.

Now that you reminded me, I think it has to be Bogut if we're talking about now. If he stays healthy, he might be better defensively than Howard actually, but since he rarely plays a ton of games, and since Howard has the reputation (they basically should rename the DPOY Award after him considering how many times he will conceivably win it), Bogut may never get 1st team Defense.

Great call on Ewing all-time.

Today? Yeah, Iggy and Bogut are good choices.

Even before opening this topic I figured this would be Ewing because as great as he was defensively, he played in the most stacked era of centers and he was clearly behind a handful of players defensively.
