I had Paul and Nash tied for best PG for most of this year, but with Nash's fall off at the end of the year, it's CP3 pretty comfortably.

Deron doesn't make that group for you?

I'm biased towards Deron, but it's definitely legit to take Paul. Either one of them is a toss up imo, and Nash still has an argument too. After them, Rose, then Westbrook. Then Parker, then Rondo. PG is pretty stacked these days.

The "bad" reaction was assuming Paul had dropped off dramatically because of a year where he played while recovering from a knee injury, and boosting Rose to some legendary status that he clearly hasn't achieved yet.

90% of the people claiming Rose is the best PG in the league/top 5 player are bulls fans.

Why do you keep saying this?

That doesn't prove a thing. There are more bulls fans on realgm than there are Nets, Jazz, Hornets, Celtics, Thunder and Suns fans combined.

I'm not even gonna mention Paul since many will accuse me of being a typical "what have you done for me lately" type poster despite me never jumping on the Rose bandwagon(though he does deserve the MVP), In what areas is Rose better than Deron Williams?

Rose was the best PG in the league in the 10-11 regular season. CP3 was playing tentative, Deron got that wrist injury and tailed off. It wasn't outlandish to consider Rose (who killed it) the best PG.

With that said, I'm glad to see that this CP3 still exists. If he comes out and plays at this level next season, he'll reclaim his title easily. When he's playing like he can, he's insanely good. Let's just hope that this performance in the playoffs is a sign that he's healthy and can play at this level, and not just him using all he's got in the tank before the knee wears him down.

That's my take on it, anyways. I'm cautiously optimistic.

CP3 is top 2. Just depends on who you ask. Rose has had a great year and Paul had a mediocre year. If I had to choose, it would be CP3.

It was CP3 whenever he was healthy. I thought it was him this time last month, and I still think he is. The elephant in the room is Rose, but he's not there yet.

CP3 is the best PG in the game, period.
He is more efficient than the overrated Rose(lmao 35.2 FG%) and far greater passer.

If he keeps up this play then he'll certainly regain his crown as the best PG in the league. I mean who else does he have to work with in New Orleans at the moment? Carl Landry is probably the second best scorer. Carl frikkin Landry. And they're giving the 2 time defending champs fits right now. I'm impressed though of Rose's decision making. He had a crap game 4 but I thought his decision making was pretty good (though I only saw the second half), but it's nowhere near CP3's.

Nearly every PG kills the Lakers over their history in the 2000. Hell Troy Hudson even did it.

Paul has generally been a little better statistically then add in Deron's issues with Jerry Sloan and he falls clearly behind Paul. For the future, it might be a different story given Paul's health and contract concerns but to this point, Paul is a clear step better.

Can't dismiss it as 'oh, he's just playing against Fisher' when he's putting up historic statlines. Deron's played them three times in the playoffs and never killed them to this extent.

CP3 has been the best player, not just PG, but best player in the playoffs so far. But he has yet to see nearly the attention Rose has for example in the Bulls series. The Lakers are stubborn in their ways and are still single covering him with Fisher (who is horrible), Kobe (too old) and even getting switches where he is being guarded by bigs like Gasol 1v1. They better change it up, because they are letting him go and do whatever he wants and its killing them.

He's hardly been trapped on every pick and roll with two people, while no one guards the screener, let alone being trapped as soon as he crosses half court for half the game.

With regards to the attention, ask any point guard what makes it hardest to operate, and they'll tell you that its not perimeter pressure, but big men down low. The Lakers have an insane amount of height, which is what makes Paul's performance so amazing, he's a great shooter.

Still, I agree, they have to trap him more and make other guys beat him.

Rose is the best PG in the league, he carried his team to 62 wins, and has wrecked every "elite" PG in head to head matches.

There is nothing objectively you can say for Deron>CP3.

It's CP3 on his own level and then the 2nd best is between Deron and Rose.

Yeah there is. Peak Paul is definitely better statistically, but for the last couple of years, Williams has been better.

And for the people saying Williams never tore up the Lakers like Paul has...you should really go back and check the numbers Williams was putting up in those series. And the first series that Williams had against the Lakers was pretty competitive, it went 6 games, and was tied 2-2 at one point.
