Honestly it goes KD, Malone, then RONDO

Bird would have won 4 rings with that team, in this weak ass era of basketball.

Re: Who will have better career when all said and done?
1) KD or Reggie Miller -- Durant's peak is already higher; but Miller's career lasted forever at a very high level. If he stays healthy, I'd call this for Durant.
2) Dwight Howard or Hakeem -- Hakeem has two rings, Howard none and is far from a guarantee to get one. Plus statistically and stylistically Hakeem was a pretty unique defender. Hakeem.
3) Chris Paul or Gary Payton -- like Durant, Paul already has a higher peak but unlike Durant, Paul has already shown some signs of physical issues. The peaks are closer, the physical issues real, I'd guess that Paul has a shot at surpassing Payton but it's closer to 50/50 or less.
4) Blake Griffen or Malone -- Karl Malone easily; Griffen doesn't have as good a game at either end and few have approached Malone's consistency and iron health.
5)D Rose or Iverson -- Rose has a chance but it's early, he has to continue to improve and mature, and he has to stay healthy.
6) Bynum or Sabonis -- NBA only, Bynum should be able to match Sabas; count the Euro years though and Bynum hasn't got that kind of impact making ability
7) Melo or Nique -- I like Melo's game a little better but Nique played at a real high level for a real long time; Melo has a long way to go to catch him..
8)Aldridge or Rasheed Wallace -- Aldridge may end up better statistically but doesn't have the defensive impact. On the other hand, he isn't as big a fathead either. He has a good chance.
9)Kevin Love or Kevin Willis == If healthy, Love should pass Willis whose real peak wasn't that high or that long though he was a fine role player for many years.
10) John Wall or Tim Hardaway -- Wall has far more potential than Timmy did; but Timmy did a good job of maximizing his while Wall has so far been inconsistent. And . . . Wall's such a long way from proving anything yet. [/quote]

Is the OP really asking if KD going to have a better career than Reggie Miller.
How can anyone say what Blake Griffin will be compared to Malone after 1 season. It took Karl Malone till his third year to become what Griffin was as a rookie. Unless you decided Griffin can't improve at all how exactly are we already making that determination.

Because Malone was an arguable top 5 player for like 15 years, and there's only a handful of players that can match that. The chances of any one individual player now doing it is very small.
