3 TOs in the 4th, but that aside, that was a Cleveland-esque fourth quarter. Looked like he was toying with them out there

Since the Houston game (17 G)

Code: Select all

MP    PTS    TRB    AST    STL    BLK    TOV   TS%    eFG%   GmSc   ORTG
39.0  26.8   7.9    7.1    1.4    0.8    2.9  .606   .578    23.2   119

Minutes starting to come down. Usage is at 30.5% for that strech, and still trending upwards (he'll be back near 32% for the full season), TO rate climbing back up to ~9%, even his DRTG is improving. Everything's starting to shape up, as expected.

4th quarter ? It's more like in the 3rd quarter from the highlights I've seen ?

He started by dishing out like 3 assists from the post then ended the quarter by scoring on them. Still looking like he's in practice

I haven't watched a whole lot of LeBron, but what is with his FT shooting?

Thoughts? I thought he could have asserted himself a bit more, but otherwise a good game. Struggled finishing a few times (lack of calls inside wasn't helping), but he was getting to the rim whenever he wanted to.

Dominated pretty much in the first half with Durant getting in foul trouble. He seemed to be more well rounded in the 2nd though.

Dominant game, MJ fans are scared. Lebron is about to win his 4th Mvp in 5 years and in about 4 more years he'll be on Jordans level with still 3 solid years left. Scary.

Since loss to NYK @Home (8G)

Pace: 90.3

114.3 ORTG (#1, +9.3 League Average)
100.2 DRTG (#4, -4.8 League Average)

+12.6 MOV
+12.1 SRS

Put up a 108.7 DRTG against OKC, which isn't too great, but they're one of the top offensive teams in the league so slightly expected

Lebron's consistency is ridiculous this year. He's pretty much always between mediocre and great, never truly having an amazing game (besides maybe the Houston game) and never truly bad.

I believe that's 25 games in a row where he's scored at least 20 points. Thought he looked great today, composed and explosive.

He was simply flawless in the first half. Great patience and and awesome decision making. He did a little bit of everything while getting his baskets in the flow of the game. In the second half, especially in the third, it seemed like he was making an extra effort to get others going, particularly Wade and bosh. Towards the end of the fourth he seemed a little gassed, not surprising since he spent a lot of time covering KD. Good game nevertheless.

LeBron shot only 4 times under the 50% in his 25 games this season :o

Since loss to NYK @Home (9G)

Pace: 90.8

114.0 ORTG (#1, +9.0 League Average)
99.9 DRTG (#4, -5.1 League Average)

+12.7 MOV
+11.1 SRS

They've been on a tear defensively and that continued tonight. That was what I expected at the start of the season, as Lebron looked better on the defensive end in the preseason that I had ever seen him before. Spoelstra finally made some adjustments, and Miami's been close to best in the league on that end (while playing the best offense in the league as well).

Only saw parts of the game, but James looked pretty uninterested during the moments I caught. Jumper was off and he shot poorly from the field but still managed a strong all around game. 20 point streak remains alive at 30 and is now the 2nd longest of his career at 30 games (since April 2012), after a streak of 49 games back in 07-08. He hasn't really had a poor game yet, but he hasn't really had a monster game yet either.

There's been talk of him tiring out lately(from himself too, in fact) and I wonder if that's the reason behind some of his 'uninterested' moments this season. Although his mpg are among the lowest of his career and the load he's carrying is certainly nothing out of the ordinary for him, but at times it does seem like he's breathing hard on the floor and taking a 'break' from the action. Like the 2nd half yesterday, he just became passive for no real reason after a VERY active first half.

Jumper was off and he shot poorly

Yeah, after a string of good mid-range shooting games, he finally had an off night. It seems like a concentration issue with him. When he's dialed in, his mechanics are a million times better than when he's tired or coasting. His shot looked all wrong the first 3 qtrs today with the game not really competitive, but once it got close in the 4th, he made 2 huge 3pters with the right form and balance.

20 point streak remains alive at 30 and is now the 2nd longest of his career at 30 games (since April 2012), after a streak of 49 games back in 07-08. He hasn't really had a poor game yet, but he hasn't really had a monster game yet either.

His consistency has always been his biggest strength. He simply never has bad games or even so-so ones, which no other star in the NBA can speak of.

Put up a Game Score of 28.9 in 38.5 minutes tonight, so PER up to the season should be around 29.6. Still think he's going to make a run at the record this year. Something like 27.5/8.5/7.5 on 62% TS. WS record looks possible too now, as his minutes don't seem like they're going to be as low as I initially thought. He's going to coast to maybe the best or second best statistical season of his career.

As for the tiredness, I guess its just the pileup of minutes this year, maybe a lingering fatigue that's a result of the condensed lockout season, then a deep and late playoff run, then the Olympics. Miami's barely played any games in the last 2 and a half weeks though, so hopefully he manages to get some recovery time in there.

Toggled back and forth between the Knicks game and the LeBron game tonight. He's continuing to clean the glass effectively this year - now averaging 8.7 boards per game (including tonight). I always expected his rebounding numbers to creep into the 8-9/game range as his career progressed. But what has impressed me the most is his FG%, 3PT% and efficiency. Really just a testament to his augmented maturity, refined offensive game and shot selection.
