One of these PG's went seventh and one of these PG's went eighth, Kemba is currently 21 and Knight is 20.

Now that they have started their sophomore campaigns who would you rather have?

Kemba-19/4/5/3 on 43%-PER of 21.9

Knight-12/4/6.5/0.3 on 37%-PER of 11.7

This thread is inspired by a similar one on the Detroit Pistons board, a majority would still prefer Knight and are calling Kemba Will Bynum part II, I would prefer unbiased opinions.

EDIT- viewtopic.php?f=14&t=1213578&start=45 Link to the thread on the Detroit board.

Kemba by two landslides. Knight is nothing special. Above average PG at his peak at best.

What makes you think Knight will peak as slightly above average?

Last year, I'll take Knight because he was realatively near the league average in scoring efficiency. This year? Kemba. But its such a small sample size, we'll have to see later on.

Kemba was the better player last year, better player this year production wise. He also has better intangibles.

Knight

11 points/7.1 assists/4.3 boards/37%FG/38%3PT in 33 minutes

Kemba's stats

18.5 points/5.5 assists/3.9 boards/42%FG/17%3PT in 37 minutes

Knight is the better passer/PG, hes a better shooter, better defender and better rebounder. Kemba is scoring more points on better efficiency, although its still poor.'

So I guess the question is, would you rather have a PG that is 2 years younger that facilitates first but is struggling as a scorer, or would you rather have a PG that scores first, albeit inefficiently and sets up his man 2nd?

I don't doubt that Knight will have the better career.

Knight is going to far and away be the better PG and it's not even close.

Kemba is having a good patch of form but can see him reverting to his chucking ways pretty soon, while Knight has doubled his assists this season and is looking more in control.

Knight's a turnover machine and provides you nothing on defense. He's hardly a facilitator. Charlotte has a better offense than Detroit even missing their best offensive player. I think Kemba's doing a better job as an offensive manager

FYI their career per 36 numbers

Kemba: 4.6 rebounds 5.7 ast 2.3 TOs 1.4 stls .4 blks

Knight: 3.7 rebounds 4.7 ast 3 TOs .8 stls .2 blocks

especially when he's struggling so greatly to even reach "average" level production especially in this era of PGs. Its hard to come up with 5 starting PGs that are worse than Knight. Jameer I guess, even though he just outplayed Knight. maybe Isaiah Thomas

Knight is hardly a facilitator? LMAFAO. Nobody who has watched Knight this season will buy that analysis as correct. Knight provides nothing on defense? Again, not factual. He does average too many TOs but he has greatly improved his ATO ratio.

Even a blind person can see that KNight has improved greatly as a PG from years 1 to 2. If you prefer Kemba's high volume/low efficiency style then thats fine. But, I prefer my PG to actually be a PG.

I cant wait to pull this thread up at season's end.

yeah its gonna be funny when Henderson comes back and we don't run a 2 PG offense for 35 minutes a game and Kemba's passing numbers shoot back up to dramatically better than Knights like they were last year

What do you think Knight/Stuckey was? Not quite sure how you can mitigate Walker for playing in a 2 PG offense but condemn Knight for it. Seems like a huge double standard, but your SN is "Kemba Walker' so its expected that you cannot/will not be objective.

I wont be holding my breathe to see Kemba play as a facilitator first and scorer second but you can go right ahead.

Its no doubt that Knight has already made a tremendous improvement as a PG from years 1 and 2.

True, they've both played 2 PG offenses a lot but with Stuckey playing so bad and Sessions playing so well its likely to continue on a lot longer in Charlotte. So I could see Knights assist numbers being a bit better this year. In the future I'm doubtful. I think our offseason plan will hopefully be one that balances the roster out a bit where 75% of our offense isn't through PGs or psuedo PGs. Someone with a semblance of paint offense skills would do wonders for Kembas game and our offense. We haven't had that player yet in our franchise history. Be thankful for Monroe

Don't see anything special in either player as of yet. I like MKG and Monroe/Drummond more on each team.

This is pretty much a Piston fan vs Bobcat fan debate. Nobody else cares enough about either lotto team to give any analysis.

Yea 4 weeks into the season and we are going to judge who is better, this definitly sounds like a kemba walker fan got his feelings hurt and needs justfication. How about we ask this question at seasons end or (as crazy as it sounds) wait a few years and see who the clear cut best is.I dont know, that would be to crazy tho wouldnt it.

I would say Kemba will become the better PG because Mike Dunlap and Michael Jordan are gearing their entire offense to revolve around Kemba. The Pistons don't really have a clear-cut offensive gameplan so I don't believe Knight will become a better PG than Kemba.
