Much like the NBA.com templates, I have complied a basic chart of Barkley's shooting from various games during his 1992-1993 season. I am also charting some of his Sixers games from 1988-92, which I will later add to this thread. Keep in mind some of the zones on the first chart overlap the paint and mid-range areas. The paint is separated by shots at the rim (layups/dunks) and shots outside of the rim area (seeing as there was no restricted circle at the time). Mid-range is defined as anything outside the paint and inside the 3 point line. A few games are incomplete with FGA unaccounted for on chart.

1992-93

The shot charts have been compiled from the following games/series (27 games in total):

Spoiler:
Dec 22, 1992 - Warriors vs. Suns
Feb 7, 1993 - Magic vs. Suns *4 FGA
Mar 3, 1993 - Sixers vs. Suns
Mar 23, 1993 - Knicks vs. Suns
Mar 28, 1993 - Suns vs. Sixers (2nd Half Only) *12 FGA
Mar 30, 1993 - Suns vs. Bulls
Apr 2, 1993 - Suns vs. Celtics
Apr 6, 1993 - Lakers vs. Suns
1993 Playoffs Suns vs. Spurs (Full Series)
1993 Playoffs Suns vs. Sonics (Full Series)
1993 Finals Suns vs. Bulls (Full Series)

At Rim: 156/192 FG (81.3%)
In Paint (Overall): 175/264 (66.3%)
Mid-Range: 75/205 FG (36.6%)
3 Point: 16/57 FG (28.1%)
Slam Dunk: 44/49 FG (89.8%)

Much appreciation for the work you've put in Dipper. This is quite awesome.

:o 81.3% at the rim!
But in his home dwelling...the hi-top faded warrior is revered. *Smack!* The sound of his palm blocking the basketball... the sound of thousands rising, roaring... the sound of "get that sugar honey iced tea outta here!"

Greatest offensive 4 Ive ever seen in his prime. IMO equal to prime Shaq offensively but Shaq kills him on defense where he suck.

Great job Dipper, but I have one technical question. How you judge from what location was shot - by where player jumps or where ball leaves his hands? I mean, for example player jumps from just outside of the lane and finishes with layup around rim - is it shot "at rim" or "outside of paint"?

EDIT
Do you have shot locations series by series?

barkleys MVP season with the suns was the most dominating ive ever seen a player play outside of jordan... and he wasnt far off. more then shaq, more then lebron, more then bird, more then magic. that year, barkley was just unreal. he was the most determined player in the league and he set the tone of every game, which is something you just cant measure. true beast mode

The example you mentioned counts as a shot at the rim. In that instance I am looking at the release point. I think it goes without saying all dunks are also considered shots at the rim. Basically I pictured a restricted circle on the floor. Though his mid range shooting seems to be lower than usual, seeing as he was in a shooting slump from the outside early in the playoffs. His overall FG% in the playoffs was only 47.7%. On top of that he had a tendency of taking long 2's from the corners. But he was so dominating inside the paint it almost makes up for it. The master of exploiting illegal defense. I'm almost finished charting some of his Sixers games from 1988-92, just to see how it compares to this sample from 1993.

No shot location, this is just a basic shot chart. If you want here is how he shot in the '93 playoffs (not including the Lakers series), against front courts featuring Antoine Carr, Terry Cummings, JR Reid, David Robinson, Shawn Kemp, Sam Perkins, Horace Grant, & Scott Williams.

19 Games Total

Spoiler:
At Rim: 105/131 FG (80.2%)
In Paint (Overall): 118/186 FG (63.4%)
Mid-Range: 53/151 FG (35.1%)
3 Point: 8/38 FG (21.1.%)
Slam Dunk: 31/35 FG (88.6%)

Great work! Barkley in the paint on pair with MJ, Shaq and Lebron!

Dipper, one technical question - all games are full or first/second half? Or some are recap like types with some parts cut?

Full games, though a few of them are incomplete. I just skimmed through these games over the past few months charting his shot attempts. A couple of the Phoenix games began halfway through the 1st quarter since it was not the first NBC game of the day. The FG attempts that are not on the charts have been noted next to the games with an asterisk.

Is he the best finisher of all time? He certainly has a good case based on the game footage.
