And to think he's not even close to his prime yet. I could see him averaging 25 pts, 15 reb, 5 blk, 5 ast, on 60% shooting at his peak.

Just please stay healthy.

5 blocks hasn't been done since Mark Eaton under different rules. I'd like to see him average 1.8 apg before projecting 5.

That's probably not going to happen.

We won yesterday because of AD's individual brilliance but that was just a terrible way to play basketball. So much isolation, lack of ball movement and just relying on Davis to make plays. Really disappointing after that 5-1 stretch without him where the ball moved and everyone got involved. Gotta mix those two things up to be successful.

Davis' crunch time numbers for this year must be out of this world though

What exactly is the franchise? I thought when the Bobcats changed their name to the Hornets, they absorbed the Hornet's legacy again.

I need to throw a question in here.

AD is considered a very good passer. When people project his ceiling usually they predict 3-5 apg in his prime.

So far he has a career average of 1.4apg 1.7 This year. I know apg isnt telling the whole story. you need Teammates to make the shots to get the assist. and you need the ball in your hands a fair amount to rack up some apg.

has anyone a theory here why a guy who is supposed to be a great big man passer cant seem to get even above 2apg so far?

Volume of opportunities. He isn't a savant playmaker and 5 apg is probably a wild overestimation, but when you watch him play, he's rarely in positions where it makes sense to pass.

Yeah i always thought he was maybe a little overrated as a passer. People like to compare him to Kevin Garnett. but KG is special in terms of passing and was so from the beginning of his career. Thats not to say he cant become a very good passer ala Duncan,Hakeem etc who will get to 3-4apg. I think he will. But KG is a little too far.

Honestly i cant find a truly fitting comparison for AD. He seems to be a mix of many great PF/Centers who came before.

A touch of KG,Duncan,Hakeem,DRob. hes not especially close to one of them but has facets in his game from everyone of them.

I mean i am mocking him on a ultra high Level. 24/11 with 3bpg is insane for a Kid that young.

He's got decent vision, he isn't an unwilling passer and the technical skill is there, for sure. I'm confident he could handle a larger playmaking role if that was the deal on O, but that's now how he works, really. He doesn't typically score in sets or from spots where a direct assist is very likely. That means both that his APG is suppressed a bit and that his actual passing acumen is often a little overlooked, as if frequently the case for guys who hit the low block or generally play around the rim.

He's quite good in general and his offensive impact is certainly there. I think it best not to focus on him having to do anything a given way. His passing isn't an impediment and he's got various elite skills, so we can just enjoy the ride, you know?

In the last 2 minutes of games this season (4th quarter or overtime) and either trailing by or up by 5 points, Anthony Davis is 11-14 from the field.

Anthony Davis just went 17-23 from the field. Dat's some serious efficiency. What I'd like to know is how he scored those points. Was it dunks and putbacks, or jumpshots and actual moves? I'll have to watch GD's Extra highlights tommorow.

I don't get why Westbrook is getting all this credit while Davis is an afterthought

That was one of the most dominant nights of AD this year
Wait for the highlights, you'll mostly see jumpshots.

5 blocks?

Yeah, i'll believe that when I see it. I'll go further and say he won't average 4 blocks or higher at any season in his career. Can quote me on that.

Not to mention Davis blows GOATbrook's +/- out of the water so while Russell is putting up godly numbers the impact isn't the same as similar stretches from bron and wade
I came here to do two things: get lost and slice **** up & I'm all out of directions.
