Top 15 peak seasons since 1996-97
Name top 15 peak seasons (regular + playoffs; but you can't weight playoffs more than 3 times as important as regular) from '97 (including that year, so players from '97 are also available) to 2012/13 (players from current season aren't available). Once player is one the list then you can't put him again with another season (so for example if Kobe 2009 is your no 1, then you can't pick any other Kobe's season).

Why such time frame? If 1990-2014 we could include 3 of 5 greatest peaks: Hakeem 93, MJ 91 and Durant 2014

These no calls on LeBron are crazy. A lot of stars got foul calls to protect them from the league. That's gonna be the most enduring take from his career.

I guess it's because we have RAPM from 1997 (at least that's what I think is the case based on DavidStern mentioning acrossthecourt's work on that RAPM).

2000 Shaq
2012 LeBron
2003 Duncan
2004 Garnett
2009 Wade
2013 Durant
2008 CP3
2003 T-Mac
1997 Jordan/2009 Kobe (can't really decide, but leaning towards Kobe)
2006/2011 Dirk (can't decide which season, but I'd lean towards 2006)
2007 Nash
1998 Malone
2011 Dwight
2000 Alonzo
My list would probably look like that.

Re: Top 15 peak seasons since 1996-97
1.2000 Shaq
2.2013 Lebron
3.2003 Duncan
4.2004 KG
5.2006 Kobe
6.2003 T-Mac
7.2009 Wade
8.1997 MJ (really unsure about this one. Feel like leading a 69 win title team should get him top 5, but I'm not sure looking at each player's individual ability)
9.2006 Dirk
10.2007 Nash
11.2008 CP3
12.1998 Malone (Not 100% sure he belongs above Dwight and Zo, it's difficult to completely separate his offense from Stockton and the system, and difficult to ignore how much his offense usually fell off in the playoffs, even in his best years like '98, and with that in mind, I wonder if his superior offense is enough to make up for the defense Zo and Dwight gave you, in addition to the extra rebounding from Howard)
13.2011 Dwight
14.2000 Zo
15.2000 Payton (you could easily argue Hill or C-Webb for that same year, Iverson in 2001, Brand in 2006 or 2013 Melo, but I'm going with Payton at the moment, although 1998 Robinson deserves serious consideration now that I think about it, though I almost forgot about him)
For reference, current Durant would probably be around 4th/5th, but since his season is incomplete, I avoided ranking him, though he's pretty much locked into the top 5 for me at the moment.
There are quite a few other candidates for the lower spots such as Payton, Hill and C-Webb in 2000, Iverson in 2001, Brand in 2006
'05 Manu? Seems like an enormous stretch for him to make the top 15, especially ranking over 2011 Dwight and someone like 2000 Zo. I doubt there's a coach in the league who would rather build around any version of Manu over current Dwight, much less 2011.
