His '77 'peak' was his third season. I think it can definitely be said that if he had been able to stay healthy we'd have seen a much greater player.
Projecting the rest of his career, is it easy to say that we're looking at possibly a GOAT candidate? In '77 he was lifting a mediocre team without him to ATG levels with. I'm not a big with/without fan but it's safe to say that this is evidence of him making a huge difference.
Statistically, going by his game, I can't see much change. He probably would have scored more efficiently, passed a little better with fewer turnovers. If he refined his game, just how good could he have been had he stayed healthy?
