Add any player to any non-playoff team to make a contender

Post#1 » by Quotatious » Mon Apr 21, 2014 9:09 pm

You can use any player in NBA history, add him to any non-playofff team in NBA history, but the rule is that the player cannot have an NBA finals appearance in his career. To make it more possible for that team to be a real contender, the replaced starter remains on the team, as a bench player). You have to mention which season of the added player you're taking.

You cannot use active players.

Example:

1988 Dominique Wilkins to the 2014 Phoenix Suns. PJ Tucker, their starter at SF, becomes a reserve.

Add Bill Walton to the Suns.
A defensive powerhouse at the C spot, most probably the greatest passer at that position, a fantastic fit for the running Suns.

Oops. I didn't read the OP's condition: "the rule is that the player cannot have an NBA finals appearance in his career."
PC Board All Time Fantasy Draft:

Bill Walton played 3 finals.

Mine would be 2007 Baron Davis on the Bulls. I think they could be a top 3 team in the league just by adding him. There's your Rose replacement.

Great pick with Nash, his offense would really elevate the Bulls, but... they are actually a playoff team.

Not a lot of great players without finals appearances and you are asking us have this guy take a non-playoff team to be a true contender?

Steve Nash is imo the best player who fits the criteria but can I find a non-playoff team he elevates that far?

I think I would put him on the Suns, play him Dragic, and Bledsoe together a bunch like the Mavs did with Kidd, JET, and JJB. That team would score a bunch of points and while I don't think they are a true championship contender I think they win close to 60 games and have a shot at the conference finals and if OKC or LAC took care of SAS they might could get out of the West.

edit: give me 07 Nasty. Sorry I forgot the year...

I'm cheating a bit but give the Pistons '03 TMac.

Sure he's been to the finals but has he played more than 10 minutes in one?

2003 or 2005 Tmac on the Current Bulls or 1988 or 1991 Nique on the Bulls

People are not really reading the OP's description but I will follow the rules sir.

Add 2009 Brandon Roy to the wolves

One of the leagues most unclutch team gets a star who can generate shots off the dribble and get to the rim.

Dieng
Love
Brewer
Roy
Rubio

With martin as a sixth man would make the playoffs

That team would be sick dude, great selection.

I'll put Sidney Moncrief on the Knicks. We finally get a consistent perimeter defender. Great rebounder in the backcourt to help Chandler and Melo. Efficient scorer who takes some pressure off the point guards to handle the ball.

Chandler
Melo
Shumpert
Moncrief
Felton/Prigs

Ideally, we use Moncrief to guard those ball-handlers on high-screen-and-rolls in the fourth quarter that Felton let have career nights all year.

Yao 09 on the Knicks or Suns

Baron 07/08 on the Knicks

Hill 00 on the Knicks or Suns

Webber 01 on the Knicks or Suns

Arenas 06 on the Knicks

Mullin 90 on the Knicks

Is reading that hard for some of you? ....

Patrick Ewing to the Suns? Or to the Wolves?

Or the Knicks? But the issue there was never talent.

Ewing to the Suns would be my pick.
