Do we have to align their seasons? LeBron wasn't in the league in 2000, so obviously he wouldn't be an improvement if you had to use his 2000 season.

But if we can shift seasons around:
LeBron
Durant
McGrady *
Carter *
Allen *
Wade
Kidd *
Payton *
Pierce *

* only these guys if we're counting the seasons they actually had in Shaq's prime.

Out of early 2000s wingmen, only T-Mac IMO. Everyone else are inferior and would at most get 1 title, assuming Shaq still leaves after 04.

I am not comparing their careers.
I am only looking at one or two isolated years (00 & 02) which happen to be two of Kobe's worst Prime years.

In that context I think it is perfectly reasonable to say that Peak Pip or Gasol was the superior player and playoff performer and the numbers whole heartedly support me.

Kobe was viewed as the best wing player in the league and a superstar especially during 2001.

I don't remember people considering Kobe better then Carter in 00 and the Kobe VS T-Mac debate raged on consistently in the early 00's.
And while perhaps not relevant T-Mac did draw more MVP shares then Kobe in that early 00's period.

It was also a popular and often mentioned opinion back then that you could replace Kobe with almost anyone and still win because of how dominant Shaq was. That was the impression he made on people despite the greatness of Bryant.
You'd hear announcers saying that they could play next to Shaq and win a Ring kind of how like Moses once said he could win a Ring with 4 guys from his old neighborhood.
Obviously as Kobe won Rings more people began to view him as the premier SG of that time period but to say he was consistently viewed as being in a class above the rest back then is probably not accurate.

Wade for sure. Wade won with a past-his-prime Shaq. I have no doubt he could 3-peat with a peak Shaq.

Some swingmen who are tagged the next "Jordan" that I think can win multiple titles with Shaq or a 3 peat are Tracy McGrady, Vince Carter, and Jerry Stackhouse.

isnt the awnser to this 'any starting swingman in the leage'? prime shaq is one of the most dominant players the league has ever seen. it wouldnt take much added to him to score a couple rings.
