make a competitive starting 5

Post#1 » by PKABOOICU » Tue Nov 18, 2014 6:08 am

5 starters that are fierce, competitive, and give it their all. they can be superstars, role players, allstars, but they have to be COMPETITIVE. make the most hard nosed basketball team you can. can you beat the competitive nature of this team?

yeah by putting anderson varejao instead of noah at C... turn the injuries off and that's the most competitive center in the league IMO... also I feel like there's better SF choices than lance.

Why would I include Kobe on any team in 2014?

If I'm tanking, sure. Otherwise no thank you.

I can't choose by starting pf but those 4 step up when the game demands it. Crazy intensity.

lol at Westbrook and Kobe on the same team. No thanks. I would want a team with guys who would actually pass each other the ball and not go Egoball 1 on 5. For me having a massive ego and being fiercely competitve are not synonymous.

PG: Damian Lillard
SG: Jimmy Butler
SF: Lebron James

I'm assuming we're taking these players in their prime. If that's not the case, I'd have to replace Manu and KG.

PG - Beverly
SG - Ginobili
SF - James
PF - KG
C - Noah

Don't really need a star at PG w/ Manu and LeBron being the primary playmakers. Beverly's 3s and D just fits really well w/ this team.

PF- Bargnani
SF- Beasley (I am bringing him back to complete my lineup)

That's a nice young lineup.

Here's mine, active players in their prime,

- Lebron James
- Joakim Noah
- Manu Ginobili
- Kawhi Leonard
- Ron Artest (only just left for China but he has to be here)

Mine looks like a defensive team but think of the passing, the rebounding, the pressure defense, the fly breaks, the clutch shots!

PG - Beverly
SG - Kobe
SF - Butler
PF - KG
C - Noah

To me that has to the be the most competitive group of m****f****s in the NBA. Some have dropped off, and some will never be more than a role player, but damn, you know you're getting 5 guys that will go hard at it for a for 48!

For a bonus, my bench includes:
PG - Westbrook
SG - Lance
SF - Artest
PF - Randolph
C - Cousins

That way no matter who's on the court there's always a chance that someone will just haul off and slug someone - maybe even their teammate...

Why is Kobe making the competitive 5 when he has had absolutely 0% effort on D in the last few years? Sure the clutch narrative and the never give up stuff is cool but come on.

PG - National TV Rondo
SG - Klay Thompson
SF - KD
PF - Duncan
C - Cousins

Cousins really showing his worth this season. Surrounding him with guys like Duncan will definitely tone down the erratic play. He's emotional and is a guy that wants it.
