Yep. :/

Exciting game though.

Despite his great play tonight, I can't forget how the guy may have very well have cost his team a title with his cheap shots.

**** balled out tonight.
But in his home dwelling...the hi-top faded warrior is revered. *Smack!* The sound of his palm blocking the basketball... the sound of thousands rising, roaring... the sound of "get that sugar honey iced tea outta here!"

This! Also, how many copies each do we need to buy to ensure you'll publish another one?

It's called Thinking Basketball and will likely be out in June before the draft. @Kayess -- hehe, not sure. The more it sells, the more likely I am to write another! Hope people like it and recommend it to others...

Looking forward to this, ElGee!

You couldn't be more useless than Draymond has been for team USA. Just a terrible run for him, he's not even playable. I am not going to overreact much to a small sample, but this summer did nothing to alter my opinion that while Draymond is a great player, he's not nearly as capable of duplicating his impact in other situations as many other great players in the league are at potentially transferring their talents into another fit. A lot of his impact (at least offensively) is highly dependent on the unique way Golden State deploys him and the talent he is surrounded with and the way they open up the floor.

Excellently written Self Post on reddit ( Zach Lowe Level ) to explain exactly how Draymond Green is able to post elite rim protection numbers ahead of a lot of big men in the league, complete with gifs that show him essentially baiting bad plays and anticipating actions so that it doesnt matter if he doesnt have a 45 inch vertical because if you are jumping so is he.

I think with the sheer amount of things he can do defensively, the amount of defemsively plays he is in and this going to show his rim protection is something substantial despite his nontraditional body, he is in my opinion over kawhi defensively.

Came here to say he's as good as Durant if not better. I wouldn't take him over LeBron or Curry though.

Making history that way (1st ever TD without points) is essence of Draymond.

One of the greatest and most dominant defensive games I have ever seen against one of the best frontcourts no less. Chapeau, Draymond!

Most basketball players are taught to finish through contact by putting their shoulder into the defender's chest and then rise over them when they're grounded. Draymond beats this by leading with his chest rather then his arms, leaving literally no gap for the offensive player to move their arm into. You can see how many guys just look off balance when they try to finish over him.

In the gif where he blocks the guy in the red jersey (sorry on mobile) at first it looks like he's overshot his target. But then you see he just wanted to position himself to keep his body between the shooter's hands and chest. It's incredibly stuff, requires mind-blowing timing and coordination to not foul.

I wonder if there is any negative to using your chest vs your shoulders? Does it leave you open horizontally more often and if the ballhandler is smart he can exploit it or did Draymond Green prove 50 years of Fundamental Defense wrong?

OK so since 1984, no player has ever had 12 defensive rebounds, 10 steals, and 5 blocks in a game. Going with a far more modest 10 DREBS/8 Stls/3 BLKS, only Gerald Wallace and Hakeem Olajuwon have matched it with monster stat lines of their own.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/pgl_finder.cgi?request=1&match=game&is_playoffs=N&age_min=0&age_max=99&pos_is_g=Y&pos_is_gf=Y&pos_is_f=Y&pos_is_fg=Y&pos_is_fc=Y&pos_is_c=Y&pos_is_cf=Y&c1stat=drb&c1comp=gt&c1val=10&c2stat=stl&c2comp=gt&c2val=8&c3stat=blk&c3comp=gt&c3val=3&order_by=pts

Best boxscore defense by a player since 1984? Best defensive game by a player since 1984? Best defensive game ever?

What I find interesting is that Memphis, with a 107 offensive rating throughout the year, actually yielded a 108 offensive rating in the game against GS. They did score 30 points in the 4th quarter and I didn't watch the game, so I don't know if the game was in hand and Memphis just scored an efficient bunch in garbage time to make their offensive rating look better or what.
