Steph is on a role but what other 13 game streaks in recent memory do you think we're comparable?

How about LeBron's February in 2013? Shot over 60% from the field, over 40% from 3, and I think he only lost one game.

I was thinking of Wade's '09 season but I remembered the team didn't perform great that season. I'm talking about streaks where the team also had a great record along with the individual numbers, as Curry's streak isn't just about his personal numbers but his team being undefeated.

If Wade did have a similar streak through 13 games though for sure go ahead and post it.

Yeah that's included in the streak I posted above. Within it he had 6 straight 30 points 60% fg games, an NBA record.

How is it possible that nobody mentioned Jordan yet? :o

How about 1988-89 (March 22nd to April 14th)

Image

Image

Only 7-6 record, but the Bulls just weren't a great RS team that year, and individually, it's about as ridiculous of a statline as it gets.

He had 11 triple doubles in 13 games, and the two other games weren't exactly bad, either (34/7/17/6 stl in 15-point win against Portland and 40/7/11/2 stl and only one turnover in 2-point loss to Detroit).

Orlando Shaq, 11-2 record (just so happens to be first 13 games of the season), 63.7% TS, 128 ORTG

You know I've never been a fan of Kobe, but I have to say it here - that's just an unbelieveable streak, especially taking his team's record into account. Quite possibly the best 13-game scoring streak in NBA history. His shooting was ridiculously hot...

Clyde Frazier wrote:lol... literally just assumed he was in the OP at first glance

Yeah, I guess MJ was so great that people take him for granted.

Also, I have to give Paul Pierce some props, because you guys know, he's my favorite player.

Image

Twelve 30+ point games, and he played against basically all of the best wings in the league that year during that streak:

Pierce vs LeBron (February 15th, Cavs won by 4 in double overtime)

Pierce - 50/7/8 (55.8% TS)
LeBron - 43/12/11 (55.7% TS)

Pierce vs Kobe (February 26th, Celtics won by 1)

Pierce - 39/7/4 (66.7% TS)
Kobe - 40/8/6 (65.6% TS)

Pierce vs Wade (March 1st, Heat won by 7)

Pierce - 38/6/3 (63.5% TS)
Wade - 24/5/8 (54.4% TS)

Pierce vs Arenas (March 7th, Celtics won by 1, Pierce made a very difficult jumper to win the game)

Pierce - 31/5/4 (59.3% TS)
Arenas - 39/2/5 (58.2% TS)

Pierce vs Iverson (March 8th, Celtics won by 4)

Pierce - 31/12/10 (65.3% TS)
Iverson - 32/2/5 (43.1% TS)

So, he was extremely comparable, sometimes better, than every one of them.

Celtics went 8-5 during that streak, so considering they finished the season 33-49, it was a very impressive record, and they were playing like a playoff team in those 13 games, mostly because of Pierce's outstanding play. The truth is (pun intended :D ) he was as good as any player in the NBA for that month.

A couple other Bird ones that were better and not from 86

Image

His best 13 game stretch was prolly in 85 near the end of the season tho. They dont have full boxscores for those games but you can tell he put up some Goat-like stretches particularly from late February to early March where he averaged 36 on 53% Fg shooting and 85.5% from the Ft line. He had a bunch of double digit rebound and assist games as well, prolly some triple doubles and many near triple doubles there

8-5 isn't horrible. You can't disqualify it just because he didn't go 13-0 like Curry. Wade didn't have Green, Klay, Bogut, Barnes and Iqudola. He was playing with garbage.

The reality is, Wade put up one of the greatest 13 game stretches in NBA history. People ignore it. It's like these days, people act like Wade was never a superstar.

Um, he went 8-5 just like the stretch of Kobe you put up there.

Curry also has an amazing cast, he's been amazing himself, but they wouldn't be undefeated if Curry was playing with scrubs.

Cyclix already did. It absolutely deserves to be in the conversation.
