Put peak Larry Bird on the current Celtics roster.

How far do they go?

Peak Bird easily gets this team to the ECF. Without a legit rim stopper though they will still lose to the Cavs there but don't know how many games they go
East #1 Draft Picks: Fultz, Banchero, Wiggins, Cuninigham
West #1 Draft Picks: Edwards, WIlliamson, Ayton, Towns

Still don't think they're good enough to take out the Cavs (or apparently the Raptors?!?), the earlier thread of '04 KG to the Celtics would actually do more for them I think. Similar peak levels between the two, but they desperately need a dominant big man.

PG Thomas
SG Bradley
SF Peak Bird
PF Olynyk
C Sullinger
+ their 1st round pick 3 from the nets
They at least make it to the finals.
The scariest question in NBA history.

They'd put Bird at the 4 most likely. There would be some interesting lineups you could throw out there. Especially a 3 guard lineup small lineup with Crowder at the the 4 and Bird at the 5. They still need a better big and a SF shooter off the bench, but they'd be awfully close to a title.

Bird would definitely be a four today. It would be better defensively (that's basically what he defended in his own career anyway), he was a very good rebounder, post player, and he'd be a great stretch 4 who could handle his business in transition and hit the wings to start transition off of his defensive rebounding.

He'd definitely energize the Boston attack a lot.

I'd likely have them as the favorites in the East. Peak Bird is at least as good as current Lebron and the team around each guy makes more sense in Boston and they have the superior coach. Not a slam dunk they get past Cleveland, but peak Bird would make an enormous difference particularly offensively.
