If OKC wins a title this year

Post#1 » by BeatTheDubs » Wed May 25, 2016 6:28 pm

Where would Westbrook and Durant rank in terms of all time greats?

I would have to say Durant gets into the top 20 (15-20) and Westbrook around 20-30.

Are Durant or Westbrook better than Wade? Wade seems to sit around 20 in most people's lists. I think by winning they both go close to that level. Prior to this season Durant has been the better of the two but this season I'm not so sure.
There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

I think Durant gets past Wade because of his MVP season and few scoring titles. Westbrook IMO would still be behind Wade.

09 Wade is better than Kd's mvp season though...and scoring titles only mean so much. Wade would still be comfortably ahead of Kd imo. Better longevity, higher peak, and his 06 title run was better than what KD has done so far in the playoffs.

As for Westbrook, he still doesn't even crack the top 30. Not enough longevity or seasons at an all time level.

Jeez, for all the stats that this board, you guys are really uneducated when it comes to basketball. Dudes are saying top 20 and 30, like are you serious? And I'm a fan of both players

Neither of them have the longevity to crack Top 30. There's no way in hell KD would be ahead of Wade already if he won the title.

KD was already 36th in the 2014 RealGM top 100.

Behind CP3, for instance.

With a title he's a surefire top 30.

Maybe just barely. But he wouldn't surpass Wade already. No way.

And1'd because I think that's agreeable and because your avatar kicks ass.

21. Bob Pettit
22. Patrick Ewing
23. Dwyane Wade
24. George Mikan
25. Steve Nash
26. John Stockton
27. Scottie Pippen
28. Walt Frazier
29. Rick Barry
30. John Havlicek

I find it hard he won't get a case over Stockton though.

Well isn't Curry already listed as top 25??

Durant has been better for more seasons than Curry so why isn't Durant deserving of top 20? Please name me 18 better players than Durant career wise assuming he wins an NBA title this year. I don't think you can.

If Durant wins an NBA title, in addition to being an MVP how does he not pass Patrick Ewing?

In my opinion, yes. Ewing is overrated in this rankings here, imo, he already has a better carreer than Ewing.

Bulk numbers inflated due to high pace. Only one 25+ PER season.

Curry isn't top 25 either, this board is reactionary at best. How can you possibly put a guy in the top 25 when he's had only 2 elite seasons?

I think Curry was ranked 25 by ESPN

Durant - 20s, Westbrook - top 40 ish. Westbrook is the big winner from last ATL as he had two MVP caliber seasons and I think he has a good chance of having a better career than Nash and Stockton

I think there is always fuzziness on these things about whether we are talking about where a player would suddenly rank if he just up and quit tomorrow and never returned, vs. where we now project he's going to finish up.

I actually feel like OKC making the Finals is the only reason LBJ is going to win his 3rd ring this year. Home court and has historically had success against Durant

I would have Durant ranked top 30 and Westbrook ranked top 50 - 60. If Westbrook wins the FMVP, top 40 - 30 ahead of Tracey McGrady but behind Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant (top 30 each)
The scariest question in NBA history.

"Can Stephen Curry get better?"

If OKC wins the finals and Westbrook wins MVP of the finals, how doesn't he get higher than CP3, Nash, and Stockton?
