So to summarize better teammates make you the better player. Cool. That's probably why curry is trash now that cupcake went down.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

I thought the fan reaction on his 10th board was cool, as well as totally unexpected. I don't recall that happening on the road this season and he was visibly kind of touched by it. It was kind of surreal watching it, the place just totally erupted the second the rebound landed in his hands as if the entire arena was fixated on his pursuit of that 10th board

It really is crazy that a team exists with a 32% winning percentage when their best player *doesn't* get a triple double, and that team is still going to go on to win 46-48 games

I think he got another ovation when he went to the bench. If I'd told you a few years ago that Russ would ever get a standing O in another team's arena what would you have thought?

Yeah, but it's Brooklyn, that's the most excitement they've had all season.

The nets don't have many actual fans at all. I don't say that as a slight, I say that as a statement of fact from a lifelong NYer. They expected a bigger bump in the area after the rebranding as Brooklyn, but they've been so utterly pathetic and hopeless that it hasn't mattered. They literally could not be less relevant in the fabric of this city, no one cares about them at all. But NY is obviously very highly populated and basketball crazy, so what you get is a lot of people who go to Nets games merely to see NBA basketball. They came out for Russ tonight, at least the ones who bothered to get there in all the snow... That was such a unique crowd for him

Closer to Iverson. Even Iverson as the led guy led a team to the #1 seed and won MVP. Russell thus far hasn't gotten either as the led guy.

That's not a good argument at all, but what I expected .

Probably about the middle, he's way better than one and way worse than the other.

He's, his usuage is astronomical and that DBPM is a little suspect, but a +14.7 BPM is downright incredible. He's going to shatter LeBron's old mark of 12.99, being the first player at +13 or +14 (in all likelihood).

Yeah, he's not a bad defender but he's a prime example of DBPM being useless. OBPM I don't have major issues with, but defense isn't something I like with BPM.

Also, he's just barely behind Harden in ORPM now too. Way ahead in total RPM.

In the 3pt era, Christon has the

-39th worst BPM
-26th worst PER
-7th worst TS%

overall out of all players who played at least 600 minutes in a season. Dude has a legit shot at being one of the absolute worst players this league has seen in close to 40 years.

Yet he's getting 18 minutes a night over the last 3 games. :banghead:

But that's only because Westbrook prevents Donovan from running any offensive system even when sitting on the bench. If not for Westbrook hindering him this way, Semaj would have been a great backup PG. Right?

Maybe we should make a Semaj Christon thread and take time to appreciate what he's doing this year.

Because players this terrible almost never get 15 MPG for more than 2/3rds of the season. In the process he's putting up some comically, historically terrible stats (raw and advanced). If he's not the worst player in the NBA (out of players that actually get substantial, meaningful minutes) then I'd be pretty surprised. He's the kind of bad that makes your head hurt and makes you laugh at the same time.
Said in a thread about which point guards would make OKC better if they replaced Westbrook:

And jerami grant a more athletic serge ibaka.

Also posted this on the team board the other day, but it goes to show issues with the bench.
