Bird/Duncan without even a moment's hesitation.

To build around, Duncan/Bird although both duos are getting you several titles in their careers.

Man, you could put almost anything around Bird/Duncan and have a great team. And both players are all about doing the little things to win too.

You still have a bunch of questions in terms of perimeter defense, athleticism and rim protection for the first pairing.

Bird and Duncan for me as well. I think Magic and Shaq would be a better and closer debate for duos.

For me:

Bird > Magic

Duncan > KG

This is too easy for me. I've always loved the fundamentals and Bird and Duncan are the kings of fundamentals. I also think that their personalities would click well and that they would be a great tandem on the court as well.

Bird/Duncan. The ceiling on the Magic/KG duo might be very slightly higher with the right supporting cast, but Bird/Duncan is absolutely rock solid and consistent and figured to be a serious title contender from Day 1 until Bird's decline. Easier to build around and gets off the ground earlier.

For me it's the exact opposite. Although KG/Duncan are really close (Duncan has a slightly better longevity but I prefer KG in terms of primes even though it's reasonably close).

Oh yeah, before Bird got injured, he was the better player than Magic in everyone's eyes. Well, except the Lakers' fans.

Bird/Duncan for me, but it's really a toss-up and I think you can just go by your personal preference - Duncan is one of my top 3 favorite of all-time, and I was always more of a Bird guy than a Magic guy, as far as who I liked to watch more (I would rate Magic higher on an all-time list, but it's very close, obviously - it's just that I enjoy watching Larry play so much).

I think KG certainly has an argument over Magic and Bird, though. Both peak-wise and career-wise. I'm definitely not one of those people who think that Garnett is outclassed by the other three guys in this comparison. He absolutely belongs with them, and isn't far behind Duncan, to me.
