Sprewell pretty much carried that Knicks team to the finals in 1999.

Sprewell. I absolutely hate the guy, but he was fantastic and was the face of the knicks after the ewing era.

I'll admit that Sprewell was one of my favorite players of all-time and that comes with some bias.

However there is no question that he played with more intensity and much better defense than JJ.

Offensively Johnson is a slightly better scorer and has a shooting edge (though I did see Spree go 9/9 from three point range before so he could definitely get hot) but Sprewell was more athletic and a better slasher.

Overall both defense and offense considered I got to take Spree here.
