He's young with upside. And Hawks will be selling low no matter who they try to bring in...

Deandre Hunter + Bruno Fernando for RJ Barrett comes pretty close to matching salaries.

That'll be a no from me.

What is Atlanta looking for in a Capella trade?

Two way wings or a Big stretch-4 to pair with Okongwu.

Think Anunoby, Cam Johnson, Jeremi Grant, Bobby Portis, Porzingis.

I see Okongwu as a classic 4 with modern defensive tendencies. We need a stretch five who can create their own basket. Defensively, they dont have to provide too much but they have to be able to someone protect the paint. Someone that comes to mind is Sengun.

Someone like Sengun makes sense for us but it would take more than Capela to get that deal done although Harden joining Houston would be a big marker for Capela

R.J. would be a poor fit for us and many other teams. JC fits more than RJ and JC doesn't fit anymore.

What is Dallas offering presumably? I'd personally want draft capital and a rotation piece.

If Mavs tried to trade #10 pick + salary filler for Capela, we'd have to take that package, right?

I have to imagine a rotation player and an unprotected 1st round pick would be too enticing to ignore. Especially if that rotation player is a 3 & D wing under contract for a few years.

I understand this is a horrendously weak center class outside of Wemby who's a PF for a couple of years. But yeah, I would do this. A top 10 pick would get us closer to making a bigger trade for a better center.

I gotta say, as poorly as the Pistons are constructed, they made a brilliant move cornering the market on rehabilitated, young Center prospects.

I have to imagine Jalen Duren would net a top-10 pick pretty easily from some desperate team in need of a cheap Center.

Of course, I'm willing to add in pick 16 for the top ten pick if Hendrix is there.

Edit: Bertans is their only filler salary so no trade swap, maybe Hardy could be tagged with the deal. DB has two years remaining we'd probably have to eat. Hell maybe Quinn can get another career shooting year out of him and flip him at some point...

Bertans contract is toxic. Tim Hardaway Jr has one year left.

And he's only 19 years old.

The question is, if you are a team like Dallas, can he help you right now?

That is a good question. I imagine he's as close as any 19 year old rookie will be from this draft class...

I wonder if Dallas would prefer an established Center like Capela or an up-and-coming star like Onyeka. :eek2:

Unless Dallas is willing to trade Luka, I can't see anyway we trade Okongwu and that said, we wouldn't want to either as without Okongwu, we really aren't that much different his pre Kyrie trade Mav squads. We need Okongwu if we want to win big.

:dontknow:

We're 84-80 over the last 2 years.

No one should be off limits for the right package.

That's has nothing to do with him. He's a role player, not a star. That said, you need role players like him if you are a contending squad.
