We have all seen this movie before, and frankly less than 72 hours ago you were calling all of us who were down on Pero as being crazy.

He doesnt play defense
He doesnt make good IQ plays
And when he goes through DROUGHTS its abysmal. We arent talking a mild dropoff, he goes complete Rookie JV team bad.

I heard someone say locally that Muscala is supposed to be getting more minutes, that Bud had said he would get more burn in the second half. Wonder when that starts

Which movie is that?

I agree that his offense is sickening. I can't agree about him being on defense. He doesn't make highlight plays but he is usually in the right place at the right time. He also does a great job of contesting shots without fouling. Watch him on defense and you will see that he is great at going straight up when contesting.

I'm not big on horror movies and his shooting performance in the Indy series was the last one I have watched. Here's to hoping he can regain his confidence, in the playoffs, and keep my horror-less streak alive.

I think he can break out of it, the main problem I see with him is you can tell he gets gun shy. He loses confidence and he just goes into a shell. He needs to be more Swaggy P , take the shot, it will fall. I promise you.

Youre right , his defense analytics arent that bad actually, I think looking at the offense has a tendency to overshadow the rest of his game and you assume its all bad. The problem with Pero is unlike PM/AH he cant drive the basket and get easy buckets or fouls. That does a WORLD for confidence, just seeing the ball go through the hoop

Bud offers support to Pero in a post practice interview.

Budenholzer was asked about Antic’s struggles following practice Tuesday.

“It’s the same thing we’ve talked about since Pero got here,” Budenholzer said. “He does so many other things well. I do like it when he shoots it and it goes in. That would be preferable. I do think, (with) some people, there is too much emphasis put on him shooting – making, not making. When you look at his impact on the game and all kinds of different statistical things, he is a huge positive. We tell him to keep shooting. We believe in him and he’ll make shots.”

Antic is in the final year of the two-year contract he signed with the Hawks. He will be an unrestricted free agent following the season. The Hawks have indicated that they would like to re-sign Antic.

I mean he plays their style of ball. Bud doesnt believe in Centers in the traditional sense. You have to be able to shoot from the outside which Pero CAN , he just doesnt make that many (lately).

Hell AH developed a corner 3pt now.

You kind of have to read between the lines on these types of things.

You don't generally issue a public vote of confidence in someone unless there is widespread speculation/concern regarding their job security.

Cards on the table. If Pero wasn't on the Hawks roster, I don't think he'd be in the NBA at all. Kind of like Ivan Johnson.

I agree. I think Pero is a project, a cheap project. hes not a future backup IMO. Much rather go after Montejunas or Blatche

I could see Monte. I would say there's probably no chance of Blatche since he has character issues and we seem to avoid those at all costs.

Pero offers things that Johnson did not. Pero has true C size while Johnson was an undersized PF. He is also able to keep his emotions and temper in check.

I believe Pero will receive a contract offer from a team next year, whether it's us or not.
