For those who remember it: this magical season has shades of the Atlanta Braves' magical 1991 season, when the Bravos defied the odds and won the NL West. They went on to lose the World Series in seven, and started a run of 14 straight division titles that season.

This thread, this accomplishment should be getting a bit more pomp and circumstance than it's received thus far.

Congrats to the team. This season has been a monumental accomplishment. They have basically accomplished every team goal thus far.

A landmark year for a franchise that doesn't have much reason to celebrate the last 4+ decades. :clap:

Just a remarkable season. Many of us thought this team could be good, but never dreamed of them being this good. The highlight of the season for me was our win streak on the road vs top Western teams. Went to Dallas, Houston, LAC, Portland, and won all of those games. People had us listed as a pretender before we reached a tough patch in our schedule and we proceeded to go on a huge winning streak that caused people to start viewing us in a serious manner. Can't wait for the playoffs.

I am old enough to remember that season very well, and this is exactly what it feels like. With perhaps shades of the 1998 Falcons who followed up a losing season in Dan Reeves first year with a miracle run to the SB.

No matter what happens this post-season, we have much to be proud of. And even the playoff schedule/seedings look to be favorable for the first couple of rounds. Bout time this franchise had a run of good luck.

I think Hawks got a team that can keep up this awesomeness for a good 5 years.

Wizards might get it together in 2-3 years after getting a new Coach for next season. Heat are likely going to flame out after 4 solid seasons. Magic might become a decent team, but if this Hawks team stays together and adds more good pieces, then the Southeast Division is ours for a couple seasons.
