Lol. I've been a Celtics fan since the late 80s.

I don't buy it, your name has Wade in it you must be a heat fan. See how easy that was? Believe Smitty or not but give it a rest or go back to the heat board

This is Doc Rivers you are talking about and the Clippers (and the Celtics when Doc was coach here) have always been linked to Gay.

Doc loves his wing players (see trading a Clippers #1 for Jeff Green) BTW.

How sheltered does someone have to be to where their only connection to the name "Wade" is from the basketball player?

Like did you not even see the movie Deadpool or watch the Yankees in the early 90s?

Holy **** guys, Homer eviscerated this guy. Should we forgive him for being a Giants fan now?

Spoiler:
he actually is a Celtics fan, just a dumb one that needs to change his name. Already told him he can request a change once per year

All I know about the Celtics being linked to Blake Griffin is that he was the star Danny almost landed at the deadline. It wasn't Okafor or Butler. That was the relatively unspoken deal, although a couple media outlets did catch wind of it.
I do not have any updated info on any Griffin stuff, but I do know that Danny has attempted to trade for him twice. The first time was back when the Clippers wanted Doc. Danny was shopping KG/Pierce in a deal for Griffin...it was reported Jordan, but Danny actually was going for Blake. Now fast forward to this past deadline and Danny had an offer from Doc, but Danny felt like it was too much and decided to stay the course.
I thought any Griffin to Boston talk was dead, but who knows.

The moment you realize Smitty is full of crapola: When he suggests the Clippers are trading Blake Griffin for Rudy Gay

You make it sound as if he suggested a straight one for one trade, Blake Griffin for Rudy Gay. Obviously, there would have to be more pieces to any trade involving Blake Griffin. There has been speculation that Doc is interested in Rudy Gay, and have been rumblings about Boston making inquiries about Blake. Add it all up and one might come to the conclusion, fueled by continued speculation that the Celtics are not done trading, that there might be some fire considering all the smoke. Smitty has no crystal ball, and just reports what he hears. You don't have to believe it.

Doc may love his wing players, but giving up a heavily protected first-into-second for Green doesn't mean he's going to put Griffin on the table for Rudy Gay.

Doc is in hyper win-now mode. He's not going to make obvious talent downgrades.

If anything he's going to pull a Billy King and offer somebody a windfall of unprotected future firsts for their post-prime All-Star.

I don't even know why people are pretending like talk of Griffin is some new revelation. CSNNE has been talking about the possibility of trading for him since we missed out on Durant.

I'm on board with a Griffin/Horford/Thomas/Bradley starting four...but we would Desperate for a Shooting Small Forward

You realize the Griffin is a UFA after next season right?

And that the Clippers run the risk of losing him for NOTHING?

Ask the Thunder how they feel about losing Durant and getting nothing in return.

:o thanks for sharing.

Please get Blake in Green Danny. IT, Grifin, Horford with one of Bradley/Crowder is a damn good team.

The people that are mad about this and that call Smitty out are just mad because they are the type of people who can't help but believe anything they hear. Hell, they are probably talking to themselves as much as us in these poor attempts at finding incredulity.

The truth is that FOs leak false info all the time, information true and false and abstract is constantly passed around and is highly malleable. We are lucky to have five or six guys on this forum who relay **** to us. They are all credible to me because I've gotten to know them as people. These haters should do the same.

Tldr: credible doesn't mean they are correct 100% of the time. Even Woj **** up occasionally.

The pick is lotto protected in 2019 and 2020.

Ballmer is not going to let the Clippers slide back to oblivion after having paid $2B for the team.

Memphis will get a first rounder from the Clippers.

I don't get how you can call out Smitty. He's a mod on this board and has been vetted.

He only reports what he hears. Just because you find it hard to believe, doesn't make the info any more truthful or false.

Holy moly, just take it for face value, say thank you and discuss it.

Leave the "he's full of crap" nonsense for Twitter.

Their is some intuitive sense to Blake Griffin being on the block... to go to the eastern conf:

Cp3 essentially got Doc the Clips job

Blake and cp3 never seeing eye to eye - queue up the YouTube of multiple tines cp3 left Blake hanging when handing out high 5s

Team play w/o Blake this season

Uncertainty regarding resigning Blake
