Something close to the max, I'd say. New Orleans won't let this guy go easy. Remember, he's a restricted FA.

Yeah, probably just a pipe dream :(

For small money, he surely is a pipe dream. He is almost sure to be overpaid by someone. I'd much rather this kind of money was saved for really big names (ex. Dwight Howard next offseason) or divided between above average players who don't demand max contract money.

What concerns me is that this team could be really bad next year. Allen will be gone and KG may retire or go elsewhere. If that happens we have Rondo and a 35 year old PP as our main guys. How many win is that? 35? Obviously the roster is not set but I am not holding out hope for a huge trade or a big FA signing.
17 and counting.

One year sucking, getting a high pick, major offseason signings(Howard, Smith, Bynum whoever) and bounce right back. Im down.

Trade Pierce to GSW/Raptors for their 7th/8th pick.
Draft someone good.
Sign Gerald Wallace from free agency.
Resign KG
Sign a starting caliber bigman: Javale McGee(?)/ Mahinmi/ Camby/ Landry/ Hickson
Resign Bass
Sign a bench scorer: Crawford/ JR Smith/ Shannon Brown(cheapest option)/ Lou Williams/ M. Redd/ Gerald Green/ Beasley(?)/ Nick Young(?)
Resign Jeff Green

I don't see a connection with the big 3. Ray Allen is certainly gone and you don't see Pierce and KG retiring. KG can get over Pierce not being on the team anymore, if it came to that.

Ya... KG is all about loyalty. I think Ray bolting and the Celtics not bringing in someone who KG feels can adequately replace him would mean the end of KG in Boston as well. Let us not forget that it wasn't until Ray came that KG agreed to join the "Big Three" in Boston.

The issue that I see hampering the Celtics is that in order to "reload" they have to have the ability to go out and sign some proven vets to come in and take major roles, while also fitting into Doc's system. That's going to be easy with KG making 5 million next season but near impossible if he wants to be paid fairly, which would result in him getting Pierce money (16 next season and 15 the following year).

If Ainge/Doc/Wyc decide they want to bring back the same core it will mean having to move up in the draft to get an NBA ready guy to play in the frontcourt with KG. Something like 21/22 to move up to 12-16 to select Zeller or Sullinger, if either slides. Then find a way to get a Bass replacement in the draft by buying a pick (or trading future seconds, JJJ, etc.) in the late first/early 2nd. Dray Green would be my pick.

Then bring back Green and fill out the roster with guys willing to accept the minimum (KG, Ray and Green are going to take up nearly all of the "cap space", IMO). Reggie Evans (room exception), Pietrus, Steamer or Williams.

Rondo/Bradley/Dooling
Pierce/Ray/Moore
Green/Pietrus/Daniels
KG/Evans/D.Green
Zeller/Steamer/Williams

I could get behind that roster as a reload with some focus on grabbing a couple of nice young players.

Brandon Roy is on the comeback trail apparently. I hope we stay away from him though.

The only way u sign Roy is if u really don't expect nothing and give him a 15-18-20 max depending on condition role.. That's it, he's low risk, high reward guy. U sign him for the vet min ofc, and Doc likes him a lot!! As I wrote I wouldn't mind him as a bench guy.

Agree with you.. I just don't agree on Pierce tho, not sure Raptors want Paul, maybe the GSW would want him and keep him for 2 more years, cuase he can put em back on the map..

Mahimi/Camby/Hickson are good options at C.

I wrote about Shannon Brown and Jamal Crawford several times.. Beasley will be cheap too, Lou Williams/JR Smith should be the more expensive bench scorers, but I'd take Crawford/Beasley or Shannon Browns. :)

Bring back Jeff, maybe even Pietrus, just don't count on Mike to score, maybe sign Beasley and bring Pietrus/Beasley/Crawford(Jamal as PG) off the bench- tbh, Crawford would take MLE, but he'd want 2-3 years, I believe.

Pretty sure GSW would take him if we give add a first rounder and maybe Moore.
It puts us in a great position, we can draft an impact player, which will be cheap because of the rookie contract, then we sign Gerald Wallace(8-10m/year) who will be cheaper, younger than Pierce. He also hustles, crashes the boards, could run with Rondo, defends better than pierce, ofcourse we'd need a guy who can create his own shot from free agency.
