Good point Kefa, late pick or non lotto guys have such a small chance to stick around the league- espeially when they come to a win now team. Go with something proven if its cheap. Ive always though Barnes was a jerk but I would think that about half our team if they wernt on our team.

I consider him a dirty player. And not in the KG does little grabs, chicken wing elbows, moving screens so-called dirty play. He makes totally unnecessary fouls where people could get seriously hurt. Doesn't give a crap after he commits them either, acts as though he is playing "tough." I can totally do without this guy. Assuming Peaches has his knee in order this season, I'd much rather have him for the minimum.

The advantage of Barnes over Pietrus (though I prefer Pietrus overall) is that Barnes is more capable of seeing time as a small-ball 4 - bigger, better rebounder.

It would allow Doc to go small off the bench without losing quite so much rebounding - something like Terry/Lee/Green/Barnes/Wilcox.

Barnes is definitely a dirty player, but I actually could see the logic in bringing him in. The Celtics won when they had hard fouling forwards like Posey Pollard and PJ coming off the bench. Barnes also fits into he uptempo "random" offensive structure that Doc and Rajon create.

The only thing I don't like about it is the possibility that he beats out Christmas or Joseph, two players I have hopes to become something more than vet min level. I don't mind more depth on the wing, Pierce isn't quite the iron man he used to be. Plus I have a great deal of faith that Sullinger and Melo will be able to make serious c

Melo has the chance to be an impact tag team partner up front for KG, Collins is insurance for Melo not being ready come playoff time. In a similar fashion, Wilcox is Sullinger insurance.

In my ideal world it comes down to Christmas beating out Dooling and maybe signing Barnes/Pietrus and keeping all the draftees.

Highly doubt Christmas beats out Dooling just because of the fact that Dooling is a great locker room presence and a calming influence on Rondo.

Dooling isn't a bad guy and he's a decent ball player, but if I have to choose between he and Christmas, hes got to go. Christmas was admittedly the man in Europe and a guy who can not only stretch the floor but give you a solid all around player and defensive presence. He is also a natural size and style complement to Jet and Bradley. If Barnes is brought in I hope Dooling stays as a coach, or is cut or traded.

I'd rather keep Joseph. He showed potential in the summer league. Christmas only interests me because he's a Temple guy.

No thanks, the group of guys we have should be a perfect mixture of personalities and attitude.
Don't need Barnes tampering that.

Normally I'd take a player like Barnes but I think we need a big man more right now.

Unnecessary. We've got enough depth in the forward chart.

There's also this....

I'm not saying I'd put a great deal of emphasis on it relative to the discussion, but it's a factor some might consider.

^^ Exactly. & People on here saying yeah I'd love for him to smack around LBJ. So what he could really get in the zone & go off on us? I want these dudes, happy all dancing & being fags so we can make them look like b*tches.

Please Barnes is gonna slap LBJ in his mouth, get ejected & LBJ's gonna drop 40 while our best defender on him watches from the locker room. Cause that's just how he is!

We got a good positive, cohesive & winning attitude. No CANCERS PLEASE!
