Yeah it's not like we just didn't get blown out by the 2nd worst NBA team, and have two very close games (including OT) vs the worst team in the league or anything.

And? We're not going to remember this in April so why does it matter?

This is really (Please Use More Appropriate Word), I was ok with the last-second-pass-to-Bass against Chicago because i thought that it was both funny and an actually great play, but I didn't think Rondo and the whole celtics team would resort to a farce to keep a record alive

Well....

That was horrible.

um.....nope, can't think of anything positive. Even Rondo's assist streak has now been cheapened.

I'm presuming that Magic etc... had dodgy games like this during their streaks, right?

*cough*

Bit embarrassing really.

Ricky Davis for his triple double...

If Rondo blows out his knee trying to get #10 is it worth it? Is risking your best player in garbage time of a loss worth extending a streak?

You really think Doc gives a **** about the streak?

If he didn't he would throw rondo to the bench when pierce left.

Most records have some shenanigans attached. Remember David Robinson going for the scoring title? Kobe going for 81. Wilt's teammates fouling guys so he could get 100.

The hate over Rondo getting his last couple of assists on the GB is funny... as if they'd just shut the guy down and let him ruin his chances at breaking a historical record.... idiots.

I swear one troll posts something and you all get riled up
Was Rondo "statpadding" when the Bulls were coming back in the 4th and he didn't have 10 assists and he took it on himself to score and the rest of the team scored through good ball movement which he facilitated in?

Are you serious? He took Rondo out as soon as he got his 10. And he would've benched same time as Pierce. I'm starting to think that our game plan was to get Rondo 10 assists, win or lose because thats how our offense played.

Rondo trying to keep the streak alive = pathetic. Can't believe Doc allowed it to happen. Would've much rather preferred the streak to end tonight, then maybe this team can get back to playing Celtics basketball.

What was wrong with Kobe's 81?

So we haven't been playing Celtics basketball for the last 34 games huh?

No, he actually did the right thing that game

That's why it's stupid what he did today, he cared more about getting 10 assists than about the game

Lets be honest the only reason this is happening is because we lost (unrelated to the streak) and everyones getting pissy and trying to put their blame on something

Maybe not all the time, but there are definitely times where he will assist stat pad. Pretty hard to deny. Just the other game he had a wide open lay up but kicked it to Pierce for a three (that he made). And all the time on the break he could take a lay up but he'll dump it off to someone who is running with him. It's not wrong, really, but it does kind of seem like he cares about his assist totals.

The entire team played with no energy and we were down quite a bit even when the 4th started. His "statpadding" had nothing to do with the game's outcome

I'll agree with that. He does pad from time to time
