There are a lot of Championship banners in Boston. More than anywhere else. Here's why.:

If there was one word, to describe the Celtics, players and fans alike, it would be, "AMAZING".

The Future, may be closer than you think. A look at Jared Sullinger.

Congrats guys, I hope Frazier sticks, good kid, was a great player who had an ACL injury and missed a season, don't think he was 100 percent past the rust when he returned. I'm sure he'll mostly be a D League guy for now at least, but personally I'll be watching for him. Good luck this season Celtics fans!

Did Pressey average 3,2 rebounds per game this season?

Sounds like the 2nd coming of Phil Pressey.

Camp fodder. Not even worth its own thread. Hence, check the FA thread or off season one. I know it's slow, but really?

There are many many threads not about the Celtics while this is actually a Celtic trianing camp signing so I'm cool with it

Celtics sign Rodney McGruder and Christian Watford to one-year deals (camp invites).

http://www.hoopsrumors.com/2014/08/celt ... tford.html

I thought the player limit for training camp was 20 (we're at 21). Has that changed? Or is that just for the actual pre-season games and the team can carry any number of players to camp?

Reports: Celtics Sign Penn State’s Tim Frazier, Two Others To Camp Roster
by Ben Watanabe on Wed, Aug 20, 2014

http://nesn.com/2014/08/reports-celtics ... mp-roster/
The Boston Celtics have filled out their training camp roster with a few little-known invitees who will most likely be auditioning for D-League roles.

Tim Frazier, who went undrafted out of Penn State, will join the Celtics for camp, according to the PSU basketball program’s Twitter account. He will be accompanied by Rodney McGruder and Christian Watford, both of whom went undrafted in 2013 and spent last season playing professionally abroad, Mark Deeks of Hoop365 reported Wednesday.

The reported additions of Frazier, McGruder and Watford would give the Celtics the offseason maximum 20 players on their roster. The Celtics can only carry 15 players into the season.

No. You're Right. Something has got to give. I do count 21.

I don't think that they've officially signed Thornton, Turner and Zeller.
Somebody has to go, before Training Camp starts, though. You cannot sign 21 people, even in the offseason. So, we got a state "limbo" going on.

Both Zeller and Thornton are on the official site roster (http://www.nba.com/celtics/roster) though Thornton doesn't have a number yet. Turner still hasn't signed. Minor moves will be made to trim the roster after the Love deal goes down, I would think.

http://www.hoop365.com/nba/celtics-sign ... n-watford/
Watford, a jumpshooting combo forward, attended summer league this year with both the Detroit Pistons and Golden State Warriors, averaging 8.5 points in two games for Detroit. He has spent the one year of his professional career thus far in Israel.

McGruder meanwhile did not appear in summer league for anybody, yet last year spent some time with the Oklahoma City Thunder. The 6’4 off-guard is also only one year into a professional career, spending the bulk of his first campaign in Hungary with Atomeromu, averaging 14.4 points and 5.3 rebounds in 27 minutes a contest.

Again, somebody's signing isn't official. Or this a pretty good hoax. It's listed in several sources.

Rondo / Smart / Pressey / Frazier
Bradley / Thornton / Johnson / Babb / McGruder
Green / Turner / Young / Bogans / Watford
Sullinger / Olynyk / Bass / Wallace
Zeller / Faverani / Anthony

Turner hasn't officially signed yet. They'll probably just cut Bogans before camp if no trades are made between now and then it seems like.

Yep. We'd need to waive someone before/upon signing Turner. (or a trade can still happen to trim roster)

Will probably just cut CJ or Babb when Turner signs. In the meantime, we get to look at other players up close, probably for the Red Claws.

I thought we signed Moser too, at least to a Camp invite contract? Anyone have clarification on him?
[EDIT] Never mind I guess he decided to go elsewhere, still not official I don’t believe but I think he knows that there probably isn’t a spot with him on the Celtics with all the bodies.

This is the most recent article I could find: http://www.masslive.com/celtics/index.s ... ltipl.html

Basically says we invited him, but he was weighing his options because he had multiple invites. Seeing how we are at 21 without him it looks like he's going somewhere else.

http://www.csnne.com/boston-celtics/mos ... s-overseas
Because of his strong showing this summer with the Celtics' summer league team (he averaged 13.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game), he has attracted interest from "multiple NBA teams" that have invited him to be part of their training camp.

Still, there are overseas opportunities to consider as well that would provide him with a six-figure payday that a training camp invite could only deliver if he were to make the team.

"We're just considering all the options right now," said Adam Pensack, who along with his brother Ben, also represents Colton Iverson whose draft rights are owned by the Celtics.

I guess Moser hasn't made a decision yet. But, doesn't look like he's coming to Celtics Training Camp.

The CLE/MIN deal should go through this weekend, with a few other small dominoes around the league following likely. C's probably waiting to see if they can move a guy for something before waiving somebody to make room for Turner.

I really like Watford. He was one of my sleeper's last year. I think he could eventually/possibly become a Jumaine Jones/Brandon Bass (mid-range/tweener forward facets, only) hybrid, though not as good defensively, if he can continue to expand his shot out past the three point arc. I like him a lot more than I should, probably.

Here is the only place I can find that I made reference to him:
