Babb was expected... a little surprised by Johnson, but I guess there was no choice

I mean, the guy played 40 games and averaged 20 minutes a game last season, have to think Stevens liked him.

Guess Powell and his guaranteed contract took his spot

Kind of disappointed about Johnson. Had an awful summer league but was a decent bright spot last season. Maybe Young can replace him in the rotation, though. Hopefully.

Johnson is a good guy to have on the end of the bench. He had good Hustle and Heart. A True Celtic.

Bound to happen with no deals opening up roster spots unfortunately. :(

Johnson will definitely get a chance to catch on some where else, at least a camp invite.

Oh yeah, definitely. He's a fringe NBA player.

I wish CJ got picked up by the Spurs. Dude would wreck it in Pops system.

I will miss our Tank Commander aka Chris Babb. Without him, we'd never been able to pull off crucial losses like the one against Detroit.
How are we supposed to lose games now? Devastating.

Sad to see players go when they're in Boston working out there all summer, getting close with the guys, etc.

I mean Babb was irrelevant, but still spent so much time with the guys.

CJ is an NBA player. Some team will pick him up & he'll be a boost. He should go to Chicago, for some extra wing depth.

So we're gonna waive JLIII, Babb, Johnson, 3 training camp ppl, Thomas & Murphy. Keep Powell? Sign ET? We'll still have 16 no?

Rondo - Smart - Pressey
Bradley - Thornton - Young
Green - Turner - Wallace
Sully - Bass - Powell
Zeller - Olynyk - Faverani - Anthony?

We should just send Bass to Mem, Prince to Hou, & take thie NG & 2 2nd's back. Save some money, send Bass to a contender & get more 2nd's. Balance us out. Young & Powell in the DLeague.

Pressey needs to go next. These guys are humble and hard working, but not legit players.

There were multiple game stretches where it at least felt like CJ was our best player. Sucks to see him go, but a guy like that is better suited on a team that's actually trying to win games anyways, I guess. Hopefully he gets another shot somewhere.

Are you kidding me?! Pressey is a true PG. Legit PG. Nothing else. He's not a scorer, but he can and has definitely proved he can run an offense. Rondo said it himself, that this kid is a legit PG.

Agreed. It's not like we're trying to find a stud at the 3rd string pg spot. If you have multiple 10+ assist games in the NBA, your an NBA talent.

He's hard working, tough, who can pass the ball well. His 3pter improved & he was a rookie last year. A little premature to call a guy not an NBA talent. How many ppl come down the court looking to pass?

Another year of a good 3rd string pg at 900k is a good deal. There's no better ppl you wanna fill out your bench then humble hardworking guys, in comparison to lazy selfish Beasley-oden type guys.

Faverani is only partially guaranteed, right? I wonder if he gets moved or just cut. As to Pressey, he's a perfectly fine third string pg on this team.

I still don't get the Turner pickup. Waste of a roster spot. I'd rather the Cs took a chance on a d league guy, or just kept Johnson.

If you say so ... Lets see if he winds up on another roster once his Celtics days are over.

CJ is a legit player IMO. I won't be surprised to see the Spurs pick him up. He was low on our depth chart and is better off getting out of the overly team friendly contract he had signed. Actions speak louder than words and I hate the message this sends from our front office, but I am hoping to get over.

His game isn't so well suited for summer league. If I recall correct he had nearly the best plus/minus on our squad in summer league, despite his lack of tangible production. That is approximately what you want to see from a guy in his mold IMO.
