Marcus Smart Could Return Sunday For Celtics, But Next Week More Likely
by Zack Cox, on Thu, Nov 20, 2014

http://nesn.com/2014/11/marcus-smart-co ... re-likely/
There is a slight chance Boston Celtics fans will be able to see Marcus Smart back on the court this Sunday at TD Garden....

“I think there’s the potential that he could be back as early as early next week (for practice),” Stevens told reporters before the Celtics’ 101-90 win over the Philadelphia 76ers, via The Boston Globe. “I personally think Sunday would be stretching it. I don’t know that. But then I think he could be back practicing once we have that four- or five-day break.”

The Celtics host the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday, then do not play again until the following Friday, when the Chicago Bulls come to town. The latter seems to be the more likely date for Smart’s return from his sprained ankle, especially since the rookie is not yet able to participate in drills that require lateral movement.

Good, it's hard to imagine that the team would be missing a rookie like they do but they really do. His effect at the defensive end is nothing short of game-changing.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

Please hold him out until at least the Bulls game. He is young and in his first season playing against grown ass men. Let him heal.

Marcus Smart injury update:
By Jay King | mjking@masslive.com | November 20, 2014

“I doubt I’ll play Sunday,” he said after Thursday's practice, downplaying whatever small hopes head coach Brad Stevens held of the rookie suiting up against the Portland Trail Blazers.

“I couldn’t really tell you (an expected return date). It just depends,” Smart added. “One day my body feels good, probably one day it doesn’t. I’ve got to listen to my body.”

The rookie could potentially resume practicing next week. After hosting Portland Sunday, the Celtics do not have another game until Friday, Nov. 28. That could possibly give Smart enough time to work his left ankle back into shape. He did some straight-line movement at Thursday’s practice, but nothing from side-to-side, according to Stevens.
