Agree, for the most part.

Smart, A- ====> He led the team well. Better than his own individual play.
Thornton, C- ==> Had better than one full good game. May get that Maine connection, like Frazier did last year.
Holmes, B ====> He did exceptionally well, for an undrafted. Hope he gets that 15th spot. If not, then a Maine Affiliate, after a Camp Invite.

I'll tell ya though. I'm real pissed that we didn't win that Tournament.
Smart has to play smarter (pun intended). He can't be getting injured and out, over a single play.

With Smart, San Antonio wouldn't have went on that 16-0 run. And we win that game easily; and the Tournament itself.
Not happy with that play; not happy at all.

Spurs just won the chip.

Oh well. At least we can say we lost to (and should have beaten) the champs.

Yep, team who beat us in the playoffs went all the way to the Finals. Team that eliminated us in Summer League won it all.

Smart, and all them kids, gotta stay healthy.
The coaches have to plan for injuries too. Gotta have contingency plans. Each team averages 1.5 player-injuries, during the entire season. Gotta put that into the metrics.

I mean Rozier, and all them kids stepped up. -- But, no one was ready for the Smart loss.
We really needed him, for the 3.5 games left, to cruise to the Finals Champ.

We don't even need to clear space now since we can bring 20 guys into camp. I'm guessing though he would at least want a partially guaranteed contract before agreeing to join a team and is possibly looking at teams where he has a legit chance of playing.

it's not clear we're not, but i'm guessing we're interesting in him and he's not interested in us. he can see the numbers game just as well as anyone else.

I hate Doug McDermott, but he quietly had a pretty nice summer league. I wonder if Hoiberg plays him at all next year

Basically, Marcus Smart doesn’t know how to not be Marcus Smart, and that ultimately led to the most terrifying moment of the summer for the Celtics.

This bolded statement right here both excites and worries me at the same time.

I suspect he will, as Hoiberg ran an outside-in system at ISU that relied heavily on stretch-4's like Melvin Ejim and Georges Niang.

Kid's a leader, no doubt. And a serious competitor, obviously.

I'm still peeved at him getting injured. -- He has to put his physical person above that. The team needs him.
We would have won Summer League. That was ours for the taking. The momentum would have been great for the team.

In Vegas, we only lost to the Champs.
