Meh its one game... Whats killing us is that BK will play Philly more than LAL and NO so will get auto wins there.. Would be amazing if Philly broke its losing streak against the Nets...

We also play the Sixers more than LA and NO, I dont mind dropping 4 games to them this season, hey the Sixers are shamelessly tanking, we could at least bump our Nets pick up can't we ? Then the Sixers might beat the Nets as well...

I like the way you think, rick.

Losing to Philly tonight also preserves the Nets league record for worst start, which is nice.

I'm advocating a mini tank move, not a full blown tank job though :) a few tactical losses to the Sixers wont hurt I think, same against the Lakers and Pelicans..

Why does everyone expect the Pelicans to continue to be awful?
I'm starting to wonder if these "lose to Philly and LAL" shouts are jokes or if people actually are crazy enough to want us to do that?

Do you like Nets losses? How about gratuitous French-dropping? Then check out my recap

The sad part abou that Dallas pick is that somehow the West looks much worse than it did last year... Clippers not doing too hot, MEM have gotten their groove back, but they don't look as strong as last year and also OKC still doesn't look too impressive. And all of this has given a chance for the Mavs to step in, who are still holding it steady! I guess we are unlucky on this 1...
Good assessment:

Right now is looking really good:

Wins counter:
0 PHI
2 LAL
...there is no contest for bottom 2, I expect both to finish season as 2 worst teams.

3 BRK
---------------
6 POR
6 DEN
7 MIN
7 ORL

Im not worried about NOP (4) and HOU (5), just a bad start. Also SAC (6) and MIL (6) should be a lot better than BRK.

So right now there is a 3 wins cushion till 4th worst finish, looks really good.

Nets are a likely bottom 5 finish. After that, it's all up to the ping pong balls.

This is why I'm pounding the drum so hard for a Celtics-Lakers trade. They look like BK's only real competition for #2 at the moment. The biggest difference between the 2 squads right now is the Nets have a pair of guys in Thad and RHJ who are absolutely busting their butts to keep the Nets respectable in the effort areas (turnovers generated, rebounds). The Lakers have nobody doing that (one of the worst rebounding teams in the league and the worst at forcing turnovers).

Slartibartfast...

I would be and will be more than happy if they finish bottom 5. I could even live with bottom 7, but every spot cost a few %.

% to win nb.1 pick in loterry:

1. 25%
2. 19,9%
3. 15,6%
4. 11,9%
5. 8,8%
6. 6,3%
7. 4,3%

It Simmons or....

Sure it will be close, but some teams will tank in last month we should not forget that, while BRK will play to win.

Agreed. IMO Brooklyn current level of play is not indicative of their record. They are playing close to .500 level right now and are still in a very tough portion of their schedule playing mostly playoff teams on the road. If they sustain this level of play they could easily put together some 3 game winning streaks during the softer part of their schedule which will put them in the 5-7 range by all star break. After that you will some of the teams in that range start to tank for the 3-5 slots.

I cannot believe that we are 15 games in and the Nets have had zero injuries...their second units so thin that if any of their starters were to go down it would be catastrophic.

After playing all 82 games in his first 3 season in last 4 Lopez played: 5, 74, 17, 72.

I doubt he can survive season without at least minor injury, but you never know.

If it trends towards odd years you're looking at year 3 probably, would like to see his mpg those past 4 years and this year. I actually thought he missed alot more last year, he has been quite healthy if you look at all previous 7 seasons. The exception being those 5 and 17 game seasons.
