Celtics essentially replaced Bass and Green (ball-stoppers extraordinaire) with David Lee and Amir who can both pass from the low/high post or on the roll. What we need is more accuracy from long range, at least become an average 3-point shooting team to help create more space.

Olynyk, Sully, Turner, Smart, IT are all decent to good passers from what we've seen so far. So we might just have improved even more from a ball movement standpoint with the addition of Amir, Lee, and also Hunter (jury's still out on Rozier).

You be right. Simply removing Bass and Green will orient this team more towards layups and 3s and better ball movement. Brad's spinning it as emphasis when it's really some addition by subtraction going on.

We need a couple 40% spotup 3 point shooters (on heavy volume) to emerge amongst Crowder, Bradley, Jerebko, KO, Sully, Hunter, Young, and maybe even Smart. I hesitate to include Smart because I think he's going to be asked to make more plays with the ball this season and that means more off-dribble 3s and he's really inconsistent at those right now. He might be the best spot up 3 point shooter we have but I don't think that's going to be his role this year.
The leaks are real...the news is fake.

I'm just here for the memes.

Don't know what's going on (the curtain closed), but the Celtics are really, really loud in practice right now.

Zeller and KO both look like they added some muscle in their upper bodies. I can't wait for the season to start. I like this team and think we are going to surprise people this year.

It's not like we haven't had attractive Celtics reporters previously. Maybe I'll adjust with time, but I'm currently not a Pflugrad fan compared to the last ones.

I like her because she comes off more professional than the last one. She isn't constantly stumbling over her words and I think she actually maybe likes basketball?

Regardless, more Abby Chin, pls. She seems dope.

I wish Amanda would actually add something to the piece instead of just her face. Like don't get me wrong, she's a complete smoke, but she doesn't really add anything. She just transfers you from one apparently really important soundbite to the next one. Not great editing either. She says something about Rozier and his impressions of Stevens and the next clip is Sullinger talking about that topic. Kids in college shouldn't do that, never mind video editors of the Boston Celtics media page (if she's an all-in-one then it's even more egregious). I just would rather listen to those guys talk than the actual piece itself.

Stevens is already so good with the media. I mean what a pro. Someone asked him about standouts (my guess) and he didn't even really answer the question, but he gave you enough that it feels like he answered the question. Dude is so eff'ing perfect. I can't stand it anymore.

The "spacing" element is a huge topic in NBA landscapes, so I'm not surprised that it has been echo'ed the first couple days of practice. The question is who are Boston's elite playmakers? It's IT. How does he function as his absolute best? When he has a wide open lane and a pick to get around. That's where this offense is headed. You saw in Summer League how Marcus was working on attacking the basket more. Turner needs space to operate. And now what you can do is just put spot up shooters around those guys and watch it rain from or, if you play heavily on the perimeter defensively, you'll see more crashes to the basket. Bradley is going to be in the corner more to help with spacing. He also just happens to be more efficient from there. RJ Hunter, I think, was primarily drafted for this exact reason (also the value there was too good). David Lee and Amir help on those long rebounds and are good guys at getting their shots off in close space (Amir is actually exceptional at this - he has such a weird release to his shot sometimes, but he has great touch).

I love the direction this team is heading in. Rozier, Hunter, Mickey along with Amir and Lee are really going to help this team. They are breeding a good environment in Boston. The competition is going to be intense (Chris Berman voice: "Watch me whip, watch me NaeNae Crowder"s quote about how him and Amir are going to be out there all day tells me something in itself). Seriously guys be happy. BASKETBALL IS BACK...ALMOST!
