I'm in awe, Everyday.
It's the most Difficult Job in the World. -- And there are No Days Off.

I Didn’t know a Damn thing!
But I learned it
I Did it
There was no Internet back then,
So, I went to the Library
And got a lotta Books
Did your hair in Public
And Got a lotta Looks
Some Daddy’s can say
That they went to every Graduation
Every Event
I Didn’t just go
I Brought you There
I Danced silly dances
Danced to silly songs
To make your Comfortable
I wore a Skirt – And Pom Poms!
To help you get Ready
For your Cheerleader Tryouts
And the Rest of your Life
I Did it
I ain’t a Woman
I don’t have that Natural Instinct
But, That Didn’t Stop Me!
I didn’t do Everything Right
I Just . . . Did it
Every Day
Every Night
Every Dinner
Every Bedtime Story
Every Sickness
Every Happiness
Every – Single – Moment
Of Course, You Grown Now
So, I guess I could Say
That, "I Did do it!”
And the Job is Done
But . . . You Still My Baby
Even when you are Old & Grey
So, “I DO IT”
Still
Each & Every Day
Anyway,
I’m in Upper Management now!
Grandparents Day, is the 1st Sunday,
After Labor Day, In September,
I’m Just Saying
I Could Do That . . .

Congrats, sprash 9802...... you must be skying. It is a draining experience.... but wait.....it's just starting (the draining part).
Great post, as usual, Parliament!
I have 4 myself.....19-26. No grandkids yet ...can't wait!
Funny, when my first was born and I'm in the room watching (even cut the chord) and that was the only sense that was workin....my sight....all the rest were turned off somehow cause I was in shock.
The next year, the second kid comes, and I'm in the room again, but I'm a vet now, right, so no shock....all my senses working .....big mistake....should've respected the process and still been in shock.... I could hear all the ripping and tearing and cutting and the whoosh, slurp sound that comes from all the fluid gushing out when the shoulders came out......holy crap!
Anyway....wouldn't change a thing.
Sprash, just one bit of advice that I'm sure you've heard from everyone: savor the moments.....they go by so fast.
Kids.....they make you old and keep you young at the same time .
BEST OF LUCK!
