During the season his minutes, points and shot attempts were identical to last season. He's been struggling through the playoffs though. Hasn't been able to find himself in the offense as much. Hopefully he gets a rhythm in the finals.

Hopefully they get humiliated and he realises it isn't worth being third/fourth banana.

Thanks bro. Only have an Uncle in Manchester and he's cool. My little sister was about to go to see Arianna in London on Thursday though, but it's been cancelled now obviously.

Orlando did well in the hiring of John Hammond from the Bucks. Not sure why Milwaukee let Hammond go after he made some really intelligent draft picks between Giannis, Jabari (this one was a bit of a no brainer), Brogdon, and Maker. Plus making the trade to acquire Khris Middleton. Even Greg Monroe has worked out for the most part, that contract certainly hasn't been the albatross that some people thought it would be initially. Orlando got a good GM, not sure what Milwaukee is going to do, but it seems like the organization got worse today.

This may just be total smoke but I woke up to rumours of Butler for Russell, Deng and the 28th pick. If the Bulls went ahead with this I would be highway robbery (by the lakers). What team in their right mind takes on that Deng contract, especially when they have the best player in the deal outgoing?

And Russell has not been very good so far as a PG, he needs to play SG. Gets exploited defensively every game, and is more fit as a scorer. 28 isn't very good either.

If the Bulls do that they're fools

Can someone explain why Hammond left the Bucks? The chance to build around Giannis >>> the chance to build around...Aaron Gordon?

Did a good job from draft perspective, but can't ignore how much credit the development staff deserves. There are also plenty of big ? about his (FA)acquisition's imo. At some point this season they had Henson, Plumlee, Maker, Monroe, Hawes and Teletovic under contract. That's insane and even though they traded some, their cap situation will prevent them from making a huge leap in the near future.

Russell so far has been a straight up bust. Last season he averaged 12-13 pts I believe, he was the 2nd overall pick and sadly outside of scoring the dude does nothing- he's not a great defender or rebounder, he's somewhat slow and not a great athlete either.
Good assessment:

Yeah. There is no way in hell Chicago does that deal.

No i thought it was Russell, Deng & #2 lol, not #28.

That's a different story.

That being said, I still like Russell, but he hasn't been very good. He needs to play the 2. I don;'t like his mindset though. Wouldn't surprise me if he becomes a Rudy Gay level player. Like a good starter who can get you buckets, but coulda been a lot more.

Yeah that's different. Lol. Funny thing is, I still think Chicago walks away from the table there, particularly because they would have to take back Deng's contract. Dude has three years left on his deal. Plus, Russell's value in general has dipped.

For the season:

4.8 ast
3.5 reb

After trading Lou Williams:
20.0 pts
5.0 ast
2 stl

Both teams can f*** off for all I care. Three straight times of this man...so much for parity.

And it's likely to happen again next year too, and the year after that.

Yeah Russell made some nice strides. He's only going to be 21 next year as well. His TS%, FT rate, assist rate, turnover rate, PER, BPM, ORtg all went up despite increasing his usage and minutes year over year.

He's still a bit of a trash fire defensively, but I like Russell long term. I don't buy the fit with Lonzo - neither will defend - but D'Angelo is going to be just fine long-term. If he can learn to finish at the rim better, he'll be really dangerous.
