Love the pick. Definitely a steal at #37 and like Yabs I think he's got the kind of build/athleticism that the NBA is starting to move towards.

I question what this means for all our other guys though. Just as developing talent we know have Brown, Tatum, Nader, Yabs, Semi all sitting behind AB/Crowder/Smart.

Hopefully we can work something out so that we're keeping all those guys. Wouldn't want to lose someone like Nader or Semi because of roster crunch.

I know who he is! (Although I'm not at Barclays.) I'm a UConn fan, so I was aware of what he was doing in the AAC. Had he played in a P5 conference he probably would have slid into the first round.

He's super athletic. Didn't realize he was so good from 3.

Never heard of him but apparently he played 2 years at Duke and didn't get any playing time. If he had stayed at Duke he probably wouldn't have been drafted.

Ike Anigbogu was available. Thomas Bryant was available. Jordan Bell was available. Ainge then selected Jabari Bird and Kadeem Allen a 6'3" SG with the other two 2nd round picks. What the hell.

I'd maybe agree with the Anigbogu pick, but the others I can take it or leave it. But I think overall, Semi is a GREAT pick, and somebody who can fill the Jerebko role right now

Just kidding, I'm excited for the Semi 2.0 era.

Didn't they sign Daniel Theis? Or was that not final yet? I think he can play center. Mickey's also playing, according to Himmelsbach, unless he gets waived first.

There's a chance neither Mickey nor Jackson play in SL, right? They're the first ones to go to open up cap space. Well, unless they want to remain and sign an SL/camp deal, however that goes. So much uncertainty with our fringe guys lol.

Oh **** how did I forget Theis already?1?

The bench/scrubs on this team should be fun. Ojeleye, Theis, Zizic, even Allen should be a high-intensity crew with some good antics.

So do we view Allen and Bird as our 2 way contract guys?

We need bigs but for what? To be able to contend a little bit more but not enough anyway? We'll add Zizic as a big and maybe Griffin. That Theis-guy is maybe something I don't know but at this moment I rather not draft for the position we need an upgrade.

Andrew Johnson @CountingBaskets
Ran the numbers for Kadeem Allen and Jabari Bird. Safe to assume their agents clearly agreed to take the two way G-League contracts

This guy definitely seems promising but people are getting way ahead of themselves. He's the 37th pick!

This is the guy that was #1 on Ainge's board, allowing us to trade down

I have to admit I had trouble not confusing Abedayo, Anonoby, Ojelye, Iwundu, and Anigbogu before draft. Semi was #22 on Draft Express final mock and later in second round on NBAdraft.net. I feel like in second round just getting a player with chance to stick is a good pick.

I love the Kadeem Allen pick. He locked down Fultz last year and I think we could play Philly 2-3 times in SL. His entire Celtic career may boil down to just keeping Fultz from looking too good this summer before finding work in China.

Seriously though..solid pick. Kid is a great defender, high motor..

Brown, Tatum, Zizic, Ojeyele..cool summer league squad.

Except he's not a great defender. Was extremely interested in him since he has the frame to be the prototypical 3/4 tweener in the modern NBA. Whenever I watched SMU he was just underwhelming on the defensive end, no blocks, no steals, small guys ran around in him and he got bullied by big guys.
If his shot translates than I do think he has a role offensively in the league. I actually like Sterling Brown and especially Shake Milton more from SMU.

Ok..potential to be a great defender. Under Brad he would put his physical tools to proper use defensively.
A new dawn will rise in Boston. ‎#StayLoyal THANK YOU TRUTH!

This guy looks like a Crowder replacement, should he be included in a trade.
