To give each one their own thunder, so to speak.

Order of transactions is important

Yeah. Not only that. I mean they could probably sign them all in the same day, just in sequence.

Celtics are doing this Intentionally. It widens the PR Campaign.
Look at it. We have something new to talk about everyday.

Just a quick reminder that Russell Westbrook has yet to accept the super-max extension from the Thunder. I'll be back in 2 weeks to say it again. If he doesn't accept it, then there's a chance he might leave. We all know the Thunder have no chance at bringing George back if Russ is gone. Something to keep an eye on during the season, because I could see Presti hitting the red button and trading both guys at the deadline to jump-start the rebuild.

Just a quick reminder- I don't want Westbrook anywhere near our team. 42% from the field, 30% from 3, 6 TOs a game - MVP my ASS!
Good assessment:

Yeah, I just edited my post. My mind is more on the Cs trading for George.

They'll be deadly in a few years with Booker, George, LeBron and Hayward (or..Theis?).

I'm actually pretty shocked they gave McDonough an unprompted extension. Here's their record over that time:

48-34
39-43
23-59
24-58

He traded IT for basically nothing, he traded Dragic for a pair of TBD draft picks and nothing else. He traded the Morris brothers and got ultimately a pick that was traded for Chriss and a 2020 draft pick. He failed to get much of any value for PJ Tucker, one of the few interesting trade deadline pieces. His only FA foray was signing an aging Tyson Chandler in a serious overpay, even adjusting for the lift in the cap. His draft picks have been:

1. Alex Len - bust
2. TJ Warren - meh
3. Tyler Ennis - bust
4. Devin Booker - great pick for the slot drafted
5. Dragan Bender - huge question mark
6. Marquess Chriss - looks like a disaster
7. Ulis - nice backup PG
8. Jackson - TBD

I mean, what, exactly about that resume tells you he should be an NBA GM? He drafted Booker - great, but he's a one-way player whose perceived value is a lot higher than his actual impact. Everything else looks like a mess. He's gotten swindled in every big trade he's done. He's turned a nice (if overachieving) 48-win team into a 24 win team that looks to be possibly worse than that this year, all without the treasure trove of assets Ainge/Hinkie acquired in their teardowns.

I agree for the most part, but the pick he got for IT was traded to get them Marquese Chriss, who's a pretty good prospect.

Didn't the Suns trade Mook along with a pick as a salary dump?

The same Mook who wound up being traded for Avery Bradley?

Jul 9, 2015 - Marcus Morris was acquired by the Detroit Pistons, along with Reggie Bullock and Danny Granger, from the Phoenix Suns in exchange for a 2020 2nd round pick (DET own).

Yeah, looks like a salary dump.

If Chriss is a disaster then the Celtics need more disasters on this team. Kid can play

Yeah, looks like a salary dump.

The salary dump might have been to open up cap space for LaMarcus Aldridge, who signed with the Spurs. Brilliant GM-ing dumping a rotation player on a very good contract even before reaching an agreement with the FA.

That's the summer Phoenix thought they were getting Lamarcus Aldridge, signed Tyson Chandler, and then moved Morris - and others, I think - to clear room.

So who are we waiving if are signing Larkin. Where did he play and did he agree to a non guaranteed deal? Article said he left 6,4 mils on the table im Europe, would be shocked if he agrees to a non guaranteed of this is true.

I seem to recall thinking Larkin was not very good at basketball when watching him play.
