But he didn't and they still needed jobs so they stayed. This isn't an indictment on Brad or Joe. All of these guys are intertwined and have worked together for years at different stops. It's up to Joe to find his own guys he trusts and thankfully he has all off-season to do so instead of being blind-sided like last year. Joe should get more credit for how he was able to withstand all that turmoil and STILL win more games than either Brad or Ime ever did in a regular season and for getting to Game 7 of the ECF. Instead, the dumbest fans in sports actually want him fired.

Oh stop it. Brad never had the talent this guy did, except the year Kyrie decided to shoot our season into the **** sun. Ime also didn’t have the roster he had. This was the best roster Boston has put together since they won it in 08. The only reason we are not playing in the finals right now is because this dude lost the locker room in a horrific way with his stupid offense BS. Dude was clowned by Brogdon, he was clowned by Smart who kept saying ‘he’s learning’ on basically every interview..he was clowned by Tatum when he said he was relieved Rob got back into the starting line up. All through the playoffs his own players threw little subtle hints that the man was hot garbage. He criminally misused his roster. Played Hauser all year over Grant and when things went south he ran to Grant to save his ass and threw Hauser in the trash. Only started taking timeouts properly when we went down 3-0 in the ECF. Like I could go on forever. Drop coverage on Miami?? Just gross.

Dude should have been fired before he even got to his hotel in Miami after game 3. Better yet, he should have never been hired in the first place.

Btw If Smart, Brown, Tatum, Brogdon etc could do what the coaches did and leave to go with Ime, they would also. It’s pretty clear nobody actually likes this dude. If the assistant coach hire isn’t absolutely perfect, we will die another slow death at the hands of this arrogant loser next year.

good Lord. These takes are embarrassing lmao.

Brad didn't have this much talent? lol wut? Nonsense

2017-Kyrie, Horford, Jaylen, Smart, Rozier, Morris, Tatum, Theis, Baynes
2018-Kyrie, Horford, Jaylen, Smart, Hayward, Rozier, Morris, Tatum, Theis, Baynes, Timelord
2019-Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Walker, Smart, Theis, Kanter, Timelord

two out of three of those seasons we went to the ECF. #1 defense in the league in 2017 and #2 in 2019. We were plenty talented.

let's spell this out as succinct as possible. The only difference between last season's Ime team and this season was that we acquired Brogdon. So yeah, on paper we'd have a more talented roster. But guess what? Brogdon wasn't healthy and essentially useless in the ECF. Combined with Tatum being injured Game 7 and Horford being a year older, we actually didn't have more talent than last year by the time we got to the ECF. Healthy, we barely beat a bunch of gimped teams and were a Butler three from not going to the Finals under Ime. You people are hilarious.

Gotta say I agree with a lot of what BCGM says here - for once.

The loss to Miami was awful and with better coaching we probably are tied 1-1 instead of down 0-2. That said, the team did come back down 0-3 by winning 2 road games. Unfortunately, when you dig that big a hole it is not at all shocking that you would have 1 game that goes south as quickly as game 7. Not making excuses, but I’m not going to suggest blowing up the team either just because that loss was a kick in the nuts.

Joe is a question mark going forward because anybody can see he is a weird dude and doesn’t have the personality that Ime, Brad and Doc did before him. He did a good job this year - better than Ime in my opinion - but can he maintain trust of the team over more than 1 season? The defection of 3 coaches is a warning sign to be sure but they were Ime’s guys to start with and Joe never was, so who can say.

We overrated last year’s team because they had a nice 30 game run and we overrated this year’s team because they were ‘historic’ on offense …..until they weren’t anymore. They do have a core that has shown an ability to win at a high level but they have so far fallen short. They are getting the same criticisms Lebron got up until his second year in Miami when he finally won a title. To keep it going they need to replace what Al brings because he is beginning to age out.

What ever people want to say about Brad, he's not afraid of shaking the roster up arround our drafted core. He likes our core and tries to find players to complement them, at some point, he mixes the right potion right?

You have to hand it to Brad. It seemed like every offseason we wished and hoped Danny would make moves like this and he didn't. Smart has always been our biggest disadvantage when it comes to the playoffs with his bonehead plays and poor shooting. He had his moments and "winning plays" will be missed but our talent level increased dramatically with this trade and we also get some late draft picks. That's what Smart's value was, not the lottery pick some on here suggested it was.

A W will be when we hang banner 18
Everything before it is just playing cards

Hope for health for all our players, as it played a crucial part of last offseason (Brogdon, Gallinary, Smart was hobbled and JT sprained ankle)
Now we have oft injured Porzingis AND Brogdon. Hope they both hold for the offseason

Horford then White then Brogdon then Porzingis. Stevens can never be accused of not trying.

Just when you expected nothing would change, or that you knew what would change...

Brad Bieber -- still stealthy, but no more Mr. Nice Guy? :wavefinger: 8-)

In Brad we trust. :wizard:

Maybe now people will understand that GM speak of liking the team doesn’t mean he won’t make a trade lol

I'd like a gm who will be honest and not trade guys when he says he likes them and will also be honest about who he hates and what he wants for them during press conferences. It'd be a fun 24 hours before they're fired.

I just appreciate that Brad is willing to make concessions and negotiate with teams to get a deal done he thinks will improve the team.

I think GMs around the league got very, very tired of dealing with Danny in Boston.

Brad got too cute with all the trades imho. He passed on quite a few better players. Could have had a couple really nice and more talented role players with upside but settled for just Walsh. Reminds me of Ainge's 2020 draft.

Yeah, because Danny fleeced them so many times.

Then he moved on to Utah and still fleeced them.

What a day for Stevens. First KP and then a solid draft night.

What's Brad got up his sleeve, this Offseason (2023-24)?

Worth noting Brad did build a team with really deep depth last year. Smart/brown/White/Brogs/PP in the back court. Horford/Rob/Grant/Blake/Kornet/Muscala up front.

Sounds like he wants to build a similar group this year.

Anyone else feel a little caught off guard by Brad's wheelin' and dealin'? I'm not complaining. It's just like whoa, you don't make those moves lightly.
