Paul, he;s one of the most underated player in all of baseball. He has done wonders for our young pitching staff, a pretty damn good defensive catcher and its very hard to get him. He doesn't have the power but you know he's not gonna strike out at teh plate. Also hits for a good percentage and is a big leader in the club house.

Lo Duca. Great contact hitter who doesn't strike out a lot. Martin might develop to be the better C in a couple of years.

Russell Martin with great ease. He's younger (11 years even), he's a better hitter (significantly so), he's a better defender (Martin is such a good fielder), he's faster, he's cheaper (so much cheaper). What more do you want?

I feel like I walked into the twilight zone here with these responses.

Yep, that's why he is such a great pick for the Mets in the 2 hole behind Reyes. He allows Reyes to read pitchers because he takes many pitches for him and allows him to do what he does on the bases. He gives himself up to advance runners, LoDuca is perfect for a guy like Reyes.

martin now and going forward. hes just the better, younger all-around player. BG basically covered it but also martin has alot of the intangibles that a vet like lo duca has, which is a very rare trait for a young catcher. hes very good at working with the pitchers and controls the running game fairly well. once he develops a little bit of power he'll be the perennial NL starting catcher in the all-star game...well maybe not unless mccann makes the switch to 1B. but martin will be up there with the game's best all-around catchers.
