Lincecum vs Pedro Martinez at the same age.

Post#1 » by tha_rock220 » Thu Jul 16, 2009 8:03 am

I've been out of the baseball loop for a couple years now, but this Lincecum kid the real deal. He's 25 now and won the Cy Young last season. At that age Pedro was starting that 7 year stretch that might have been the best ever for a pitcher. Both are small for power pitchers and they have similar pitching repertoires. I don't think Tim has control as good as Pedro's, but he's more controlled.

So who will be considered better 10 years from now???

well, to put things in perspective, johan santana in his prime was a poor man's pedro...timmy has a good chance of surpassing johan and becoming the most dominant pitcher since pedro, but theres probably less than 10% chance he'll ever be able to match him

No. Pedro is still underrated to this day.
